Gingrich's Group Sends Letter to Deeds, McDonnell
Washington Post June 17, 2009 Anita Kumar Newt Gingrich's American Solutions will send letters to gubernatorial candidates, Creigh Deeds and Bob McDonnell this afternoon, asking them to oppose a federal proposal that the groups says would establish a national tax system on energy. "As leaders who aspire to lead Virginia forward, you have a responsibility to speak out now to protect the commonwealth from proposed laws that would kill jobs in Virginia,'' Dan Varroney, the group's senior vice president writes in his letter. "Your leadership responsibility is to help create Virginia jobs, not support their destruction (either actively or through silence)." American Solutions is kicking off a national campaign to oppose the bill in Congress. I think journalists are supposed to be taught ethics... that they can ignore causing misery to millions of human beings in their pursuit of their environmental fantasies is unconscionable.... Domestic oil reserves, coal, nuclear and at the same time develope these new "green" technologies. When governments pick winners in advance of the markets, the mistakes have enormous consequences. By declaring ethanol a winner, we created (or worsened) famines around the world; and it turns out that it isn't economically viable! Promote big turnouts at 7/4 teaparties!
