Summary: Newt discusses the need for energy independence. Taken from a speech done for a very interesting group called 25x25 that seeks to achieve 25 percent of our energy coming from renewables by 2025.

We have a small but potent group of dedicated entrepreneurial companies which will be rolling out $.03 -$.05/KWH renewable energy. They are not naive, one group has severall hundred MW already installed base. We are ISO stakeholders. I have been involved with 2 prior successful tech revolutions. Big companies go after Energy as a business, my group / company has gone after energy as a problem to solve, both technically and economically. The question now is -- will there be Political vision and a sharing in its solution.

What was really said here? It seems our national security could use a boost now. I agree with Newt so often but don't we need total energy independence now, working toward 100% green by 2025?

Speaker, fyi, renewables are not going to be the answer because in the pipeline is something known as magnetic flux. Physics cannot be patented: therefore magnetic flux is "free". Everything changes and thus is the challenge we face: not what happens with oil and replacing it. If any leader should know more about this, IMO it should be you.
