FedEx vs. Government Bureaucracy

mediacenter_speechcliplogo-small.jpg

Location: Washington, DC

Date:

Summary: By comparing the speed and accuracy of FedEx to what we've come to expect of government, Newt paints a picture of the scale of change needed in the way our government operates.

*UPDATE* President Obama quoted Newt in his healthcare speech on June 15, 2009, referencing his frequent use of FedEx as an example of the world that works. He was talking about electronic health records and you can learn more about the Center for Health Transformation’s health information technology initiatives at www.healthtransformation.net

Good report...

Thinking similarly, send Osama Bin Laden a package via UPS or Fedex.

Either of them would find him and deliver it.

Simple, unambigous & relentlessly to the point. Americans sometimes don't know what they don't know & by simply living, get a ferociously indifferent treatment by a government that for reasons of not being dealt with from a top down OR bottom up approach thinks it's fine to ignore it's owners. We are fast approaching a time when a return to the unambiguous connection between behaviors & consequences is apt to make a for lot of red faces.

This is insightful to say the least and right on the money. I see no political solution to our current dilemma as the combatants are too entrenched, too spiteful and too self-serving. The solution will by necessity have to come from us … WE THE PEOPLE … through the election process. We have to replace the current dinosaurs in office with a new and fresh and people serving breed. There are in fact SOME good people in office (in both parties I might add) trying to fulfill their obligations to the people and the Country, but they are too few and lack the pull to sway the conscience of the other politicos to actually promote constructive productivity. Woe unto us as we are in for some tough times till we get ourselves straight … so that we can then get our politicians straightened out too.

PS_ I have a copy from the 5 hour workshop this clip came from, is there a link available for me to attach to my blog to promote others to review the necessary insights. Thank You. Michelle
