Equall Justice Under Law |

On the top of the supreme court building of the United States is the phrase ' Equall Justice Under Law' a fundamental principle of our republic. Taxation is law and must be brought to fall under this equall justice ideal. Here is a definition of progressive income tax as i understand it ::: Characterizes a convex tax schedule that results in a higher effective tax rate on higher income levels. Increases for some increases in income, but never decreases with an increase in income:::. It has never made sense to me how we can ask one american to pay one percentage of their income in taxes and another american yet a different percentage of their income in taxes.In any sense of fairness and justice i propose that ALL americans pay the same percentage of their income in federal income tax.Wether an american makes 100 dollars a year or 100 billion dollars it is only fair and just that we all pay the same fair share of taxes.this would accomplish several important things for our citizenry and our nation. wether rich or poor all americans can take pride that they all pay the same rate of taxes. The pauper and the prince have the same equall pride in what they pay to support our nation. If Tax rates go up or go down, ALL americans are equall in their responsability. Politicians will not be able to do wich i find to be most decietfull......promise one group of citizens a set of benifits by increasing the expense and burden on another group of citizens. When politicians increase taxes...it will be on ALL americans...when they lower taxes it will be on ALL americans.This could lead to greater responsiblity of our leaders if all americans pay 17% income tax. Its possible that revenue will actually go up. Progressive taxation should be reserved only for those times of national emergency and peril as when it was originally instituted.in short...if our nation needs to raise its taxes the cause should be of such gravity that ALL americans should share that burden.If our nation sees fit to lower its taxes its cause should be of such gravity that ALL americans recieve the benifit. POLITICAL ASPECTS.....The progressive income tax also represents a structural barrier for republicans in the popular political arena. When opponents of republicans in elections can in essence entice voters to support them by promising 95% of the electorate a tax break by sacrificing the remaining 5% to increased burdens they surely will do so as we have witnessed in this last election. this will remain to be the case for Republicans. This dilema will become evermore consequential in an age of razor thin elections as one faction in our populace have no aversion to screwing another faction in our populace for their own benifit. |

There has been commentary recently about wich direction the republican party should take after this last election. I have heard it posited that the republican partys problem is the conservative base and the talk radio base and that the republicans need to reach out to more moderates to expand its base beyond this so-called narrow conservative confine of the party.Lets look at the historical facts. It is my opinion that it was the conservative base of the party that brought the republican party to hold the office of the presidency and the majority in both chambers of congress and gave them the keys to the kingdom only for conservatives to be locked out.YET no conservative agenda was met by either the executive or legislative branch.On the contrary this last 8 years of republicans have been the most liberal crop of republicans to govern in the conservative revolution. Further,It was said that Obama was the most liberal democrat in the senate, and this is true, yet John McCain was among the most liberal republicans in the senate.When John McCain appeared on the Meet the Press a week before the election and called himself a 'conservative' i almost spewed my coffee on the TV screen.NOTHING characterizes these last 8 years in deed as conservative...The republicans just ran a liberal republican at the top of the ticket on a liberal republican record of eight years. If this is the 'Centrist' or 'Moderate' republicanism people are saying the republicans need to further embrace i say Republicanism Shmepublicanism. |

There has been much talk of race during this last election. I think this is a good thing and hope an honest dialogue continues. I ran across this this video of Bill Bojangles Robinson , his last public appearance dated 1949. I was so struck by this mans humility,dignity,and patriotism i was almost moved to tears. Given the times this great man lived through make this all the more remarkable.I will spend the rest of my life trying to attain the humility,character,and patriotism this man has attained. In The Primaries Reverend Wright had become the center of controversy for the Obama campaign. Subsequently, Obama divorced himself from the reverend and that parish scrubbed from its web site all refernces to black liberation theology. In my view there was too much attention paid to Reverend Wright as a personality and not enough discourse as to what so-called liberation theology is and is not. In an effort to educate my self about Liberation Theology i came across these two following articles, one was written by Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger,currently known as Pope Benedict XVI and the other are the writings of James Cone, considered the father of Black Liberation theology in America.Perhaps it just me, but i find the writings of james cone rather disturbing. Further, in my estimation, in some contexts, Liberation theology is not theology at all, but political ideology poseing as theology...if i read Cardinal Ratzinger's writings correctly, in some context Liberation theology is considered by him as " heretical". In my readings i came across the web site of political Scientist J.R. Rummel....if i recall correctly his site has approx 5000 pages of text and over 1000 tables... he was nominated for a Nobel Prize for his work. He coined the phrase 'democide' meaning death by government. i would draw ones attention to those interested in exploring this mans work to 1st check out his page on web site credibility....http://www.hawaii.edu/powerkills/MTF.CHAP1.HTM his page on death by communism is a shocking expose'...his tables are VERY usefull in documentation of communist Democides ...http://www.hawaii.edu/powerkills/COM.TAB1.GIF and overall i find his work to be very usefull in illustrating the dangers of non representative governments...an indispesable resource for those interested in these type of political subjects. |

A Missing Element of the Debate |

Energy has come to the fore in political discourse in these last years,so many aspects of the debate are to be considered. its direct relationship to our standard of living,our national security,internal and external economic and political stability...there is virtually no aspect of our lives,society,and nation wich are not directly impacted by energy. Fossil fuels are directly responsible for our industrial revolution,technological revolution and there is no more singular item wich can directly impact our standard of living. a One dollar increase in the cost of a gallon of gas can dramatically lower the standard of living of millions of americans.It can remove large amounts of disposable income impacting immediately the whole of our national economy. In the debate there seems to not be much attention paid to what i assert is a very important aspect of the energy debate, the cost and time of conversion. for example.... lets say there was a new energy source discovered today, totally pollution free,carbon free,even the energy source is free, lets call this new energy source water....How could we take advantage of this new revolutionary source of energy? lets look at automobiles, the national fleet surely is in the tens upon tens of millions if not hundreds of millions, How much would it cost to convert our national fleet ? how long would it take ? who will pay the costs ? what becomes of the obsolete fleet ? do we just discard perfectly good relatively new and new vehicles ? what about homes, how long would it take to retrofit every home with new furnaces to accomodate this new revolutionary energy source called water ? The task of just fitting every home in the US with a new furnace would be monumental....what would be the cost ? what would be the time frame that realistically could be met ? Conversion......it will have great costs and will take large windows of time. In essence we are really looking at conversion of our entire economic system when we talk about energy. an economic system born of fossil fuel scince the begining of the industrial revolution.we live in a carbon based world, with carbon based economies. no wonder so many liberals are salivating at carbon taxes, caps and trade,....it would be a universal taxation on the very elemental basis of virtually everything in our lives.how many carbon units does it take to produce a kernal of corn ?Taxation at the molecular level...a scary thought... but i digress...Its my understanding that if we combined all of the so-called " alternative energy" sources in the united states that it comes in slightly under 2% of providing our total current energy needs. What are realistic expectations of increases in given periods of time? If we increased all our alternative energy sources by lets say 1000% over the next ten years this would still yeild only 22% of our total energy needs not taking into account any increase in demand that occurs over that same period of time. does anyone think it is realistic to make a 1000% increase in this energy sector in ten years ? what would be a realistic conversion window for such an increase ? in what areas would these conversions take place ? what would be the cost ? who would bear the costs? I dont know the answer to these questions but i think when we look at realistic expectations of increasing our alternative energy production ....cost and time of conversion are critical elements wich MUST be considered and are of paramount importance to the success or failure of any energy policy...and i have not heard many people talking about it... It also seems to me the more one considers these conversion costs and time windows it highlights the point that it is imperative that we keep fossil fuels abundant,available,and cheap to accomadate our standard of living,our security,and our national economy, during what will be no doubt a multi generational time frame for conversion...For me, it would be hard to consider ANY energy policy as valid or realistic that does not increase dramaticlly our domestic coal,oil,and natural gas production to provide for these conversion costs and time windows and that these conversion issues must become an important part of the debate.Ultimately this will be the trick, to maintain abundant and affordable existing energy sources as we slowly,methodically,and economically convert to what will have to be an equally affordable and abundant energy source(s) of the future. |

One of the most important things americans can do about the war on terror is to stay informed on whats going on in those parts of the world where this war is taking us...and scince it is a global war it takes us to lands whose culture and languages we dont fully understand. The US media is woefully inadequate in providing us good information about these parts of the world. there is no better way to learn about these parts of the world, their cultures, and the prevailing attitudes and trends than reading and staying abreast of THEIR media outlets, the vast majority of wich are state owned and operated.In doing so this requires the ability to translate as these outlets often provide two very different messages between their english language media and their arabic language media, ...thats EXACTLY what MEMRI does.TRANSLATE... the ( Middle East Media Research Institute ) can be found at the following address http://www.memri.org/ They also have a TV site at the following address www.memritv.org/ Some years ago i had the opportunity to have a conversation with an Arabic language scholar... i brought up the MEMRI organizations and expressed my concern to her that not knowing anything about arabic based languages i had no way of knowing the accuracy of their translations of these mediaand therefore its credibility. I was told that these translations are of the most excellent quality and without bias.with this in mind ,its my beliefe that these translations are of the highest quality wich can be obtained without bias or agenda. In thinking about the future of Nuclear energy in the US we need to look at the past experience of Nuclear energy in the US...why it failed...and why the Most sucessfull Nuclear energy program in the world succeeded....this takes nothing more than to identify one key element in the success in Frances Nuclear energy program to realize that this is why Nuclear energy in the US has failed.The Key to France,s stunning success in the nuclear power buisness can be summarized by one word. STANDARDIZATION. In essence they began with one prototype and as time marched forward the problems in their prototype would surface....they would correct these flaws..till another flaw surfaced..and then again and again correct the design flaws in their prototype...over the years as the generations of frances reactors developed, they ended up with increasingy MORE highly reliable,highly safe, nuclear plants that have had all the bugs worked out and is now at a current generation of power plants that are virtually flawless and can be installed anywhere at anytime with known consequences of success and saftey ....now france not only provides for its own electrical needs but is europes only net exporter of electricity .that is to say they have excess capacity. If we look at what happened in the US ,every nuclear power plant is of different design, no continuity,and each power plant having to ecounter its own set of design flaws wich are unique to each plant and serve no purpose in the evolution of a safe standardized design and ever safer successive generations of nuclear power plants . As we all now know from TMI...it only takes one bad accident to set nuclear power back for generations. Lets hope leaders in the US take a good hard look at what france has done before we have the opportunity to REPEAT this same mistake we have made in the past of creating Nuclear power plants in the US with no standardization of design and therefor no hope of creating a succession of ever more safe and productive design models for nuclear power in the USA well into the future.

In this age of the sound byte it no doubt is unfashionable to read a chapter of history...and so the process of following long dendritic seemingly unrelated circumstance in the making of a simple conclusion, and that fuller understanding this process can render and yield is often neglected.. Yet, i urge all those interested in our current econimic turmoil to read this article ,as its my estimation it clearly points to what we face today...the prospect of long term adverse economic impact that interventionist government policy can render through unintended consequence and government policy that acts interventionally simply because it 'feels' compelled to do something,anything,to prove its relevence to its constituencies....in regard to the auto bailout i feel confident that both parties will pass the auto bailout as it serves each's constituencies...It would serve the auto companies and it would serve the Labor Unions, thereby preserving both of those entities profound dysfunction in the new markets that have arrived and made them dysfunctional in the first place. All this bailout will do is forstall the point in time when these entities must face the music and hard market realities that they must confront.It will further delay the the actions they must take to adapt to these market realities and regain fundamental functionality and profitability...all at exceptionally great expense to the tax payer for generations to come and the continued detioration of those very enterprises and industries that are suppossedly being helped.additionaly, if we look at GM global operations its my understanding that all GM's operations are profitable with the exception of its US operations wich begs the question, whats REALLY being bailed out and subsidized...GM or the UAW, no wonder the democrats are so frightfully concerned, not about ANY concern for Corporations and the economy, but for Unions, their bread and butter, wich democrats would have no aversion to subsidizing ,cloaking their support for these unions in the broader concern of the US economy as they soak the US tax payer to bailout their Union croanies. |

Now then, upon popular usage in our time is this word democracy..... from presidents to communists they all advocate democracy...how far our fair national history has fallen that such a grand word as Republic has plummeted into disuse and replaced with such a dispicable antonymy as that of democracy.From our schools to our halls of congress, to the Highest office in the land the word Republic has been vacated,abandoned,and orphaned by its very own constituency, the patrons of liberty,its own dear citizens, the american people.
For the sake of clarity let me post my favored definition of democracy, it is the official definition issued by the U.S. War Dept 1928:
CITIZENSHIP Democracy:
A government of the masses. Authority derived through mass meeting or any other form of "direct" expression. Results in mobocracy. Attitude toward property is communistic--negating property rights. Attitude toward law is that the will of the majority shall regulate, whether is be based upon deliberation or governed by passion, prejudice, and impulse, without restraint or regard to consequences. Results in demogogism, license, agitation, discontent, anarchy
and contrast this against that wich our founding fathers so dearly loved they fought for it at great expense, REPUBLIC !!!
CITIZENSHIP Republic:
Authority is derived through the election by the people of public officials best fitted to represent them. Attitude toward law is the administration of justice in accord with fixed principles and established evidence, with a strict regard to consequences. A greater number of citizens and extent of territory may be brought within its compass. Avoids the dangerous extreme of either tyranny or mobocracy. Results in statesmanship, liberty, reason, justice, contentment, and progress. Is the "standard form" of government throughout the world. A republic is a form of government under a constitution which provides for the election of
(1) an executive and (2) a legislative body, who working together in a representative capacity, have all the power of appointment, all power of legislation, all power to raise revenue and appropriate expenditures, and are required to create (3) a judiciary to pass upon the justice and legality of their government acts and to recognize (4) certain inherent individual rights.

Mr. Madison is not ambiguous about the peril of democracy:

The two great points of difference between a democracy and a republic are: first, the delegation of the government, in the latter, to a small number of citizens elected by the rest; secondly, the greater number of citizens, and greater sphere of country, over which the latter may be extended.

Are you sure ? It is estimated that Labor spent 1.5 Billion dollars in the last election, all this funding for Obama and the democrats came from Unions and coalitions of Unions...! It is estimated that Unions spent ONE BILLION DOLLARS on independent electioneering and get out the vote ativities alone.It has been estimated that Union money represents fully 75% of all money spent on the democrats behalf this last election. It can not be over stated the importance of this funding to the democrats/progressives.

None The Less, Conservatives if they wish to win future elections will have to play both sides of the ball, Offense and defense to be effective. This will require conservatives to make a concerted effort to make sure their hard earned dollars dont reach the Union bosses who actively work against conservatives...Every dollar NOT spent on Union Goods and services is Ultimately one less dollar that will not go to fund liberal candidates with YOUR money..
As for me, wether its a Union soda delivered to the convenience store by union drivers, or the Purchase of Union made cars, to any union services in the service sector they will be avoided at all reasonable costs and measure.

In Giving Thanks this holiday it occurs to me conservatives have much to be thankfull for.... and most of all will be our place in history demarcated by the last election. I give thanks that conservatives and president Bush held tough these last eight years on one core cause....Iraq...It can be said with great clarity that Iraq is a success, despite long odds and great difficulty, Iraq has been liberated from that malignant despot Saddam Hussein of Tikriti....that was in retrospect, the simple part...and without doubt had the liberals been able to prevail saddam hussein would still be in power today and all that implies. 550 metric tons of yellow cake uranium has been evacuated out of iraq to canada, the seeds of representative government are sown. In the North Kurdistan region progress has been remarkable thanks to the nature of the kurds.They have transformed their region from one of complete oppression under saddam, into one of the most free,most economic prosperous regions in the entire middle east. As for the rest of iraq , they tirelessly muddle on and despite great obstacles seem to have forthrightly eschewed those outside elements of jihad wich prevailed in destablizing their nation from the out set, yet from the jihadis own intercepted transmissions they now view Iraq as lost to them....The war back home raged, democrats casting our armed services as murderers and terrorists, condemning them from their highest offices in the house and senate, the conservatives hung tough...Now in the balance lies the future of the entire middle east. Will Iran prevail and transform its influence through whats called the shiite crescent ? Thats the region from Iran,Iraq,Syria,Lebanon, to the palestinian territories. We shall see. The only thing stopping them so far is US power. These are things we can give thanks for, that up till now, when the going got tough, the US military got going, and the conservatives back home hung with them even against the most vile attacks from the left demonizing our nation and our troops. With this last election the demarcation is made.... The " yes we can " liberals will now take the field, but, conservatives should never forget, and not let these liberals ever forget, That as they take the field as the " yes we can " Liberals , they are taking the ball from the " yes we did " conservatives "... who, with great loyalty to our nation and more than treachory directed at us, our troops ,and our commander and chief by the liberals, now implore us to do that wich they did not, unify around the president for the sake of the nation,..... NEVER forget the liberals treachory as it is now a historical fact. Therfore i give thanks that we conservatives prevailed this last eight years in advancing two things.... the removal of despotism from iraq embodied as Saddam, and planting the fragil seeds of liberty in Iraq and in the greater middle east. What fruit this will yeild remains to be seen, but the seeds have been sown, and that is a credit purely to conservatives. No credit to the liberals shall be issued by history as it is they who betrayed us conservatives, our troops ,and our nations cause, and now take the field. I Give thanks to God that I am not one of them. |

Much talk has been issued about entitlements and US wealth....it is said that america is wealthy enough for ALL to have social security,medicare,medicade,......and NOW the so-called Universal Healthcare ( Pronounced Communist Healthcare )....fact of the matter is this....these entitlements are a sign of POVERTY, clearly a wealthy,affluent populace and society could afford THEIR OWN retirement and healthcare.....so it is a complete mis-direction when addressing the needs of americans to focus on the entitlements...what is ACTUALLY needed is more PROSPERITY.....so, as we listen to the blow-hards in washington try to address the needs of the nation, remember most likely it is washington through regulation and legislation that restricts the prosperity of americans therefor the ...shall we say " needs" of americans....what americans REALLY need is more PROSPERITY.... and entitlements will naturally go the way of the dinasaur....if we look at american prosperity and affluence scince the industrial revolution it is attributable and based upon one fundamental item......FOSSIL FUEL...our carbon based prosperity is the KEYSTONE to the prosperity americans have enjoyed.....till we free up US carbon based resources......look forward to an entitlement soociety wich again is a symptom of lack of wealth and affluence and a lowering standard of living and will ultimately collapse from its own weight of debt....just one small example...imagine if heating fuel and electrical generation fuels, and transportaion fuels were reduced in cost to that of the 60's...where average electrical and heating bills were respectively 20 and 30 dollars a month, add on top of that transportaion costs for gas and diesel in the 50 to seventy-five cents per gallon range..... this alone would increase americans wealth and disposable incomes vastly, and then look at the economic generation of buisness as those disposable dollars were circulated into other areas of the economy, this alone would create a long term economic wellspring wich would dwarf the bailouts authorized by the congress ...without the debt ! good day |

There has been NO reduction in greenhouse gas,not that it matters to our climate as there is no anthropogenic relation to climate change.IN FACT in virtually EVERY nation greenhouse gasses have increased from the signatory nations. NONE have met their targets. HOWEVER, it has succeeded in taxing every household in those nations it has been imposed upon.

The recent appointment of Ken Salazar as seceretary of the Interior marks more of the same from team Obama.....Salazar has a well known track record of anti-exploration and development....a return to anti-fossil fuel energy policy of the last 30 years.....combined with signals from team Obama about implementation of Kyoto-like cap and trade taxes spells the death of fossil fuel enterprise in the USA and the extreme increase in energy prices that necessarily will follow...coupled with the allready troubled economy the recipie for economic stagnation and deterioration is now firmly in place...the only obstacle to fulfillment now is inauguration day....its gonna be a long four years at best.....

The bad thing for the GOP is they have lost ALL credibility from conservatives...as a matter of fact it could be said that conservatives are fed up with the GOP sullying the good name Conservative and their political beliefs....i dont think it will be easy for the GOP to regain that credibility without real change from the GOP....and i dont think the GOP can count on conservative support at present.Will conservatives vote republican ? most likely they will hold their nose and pull the republican lever as a vote AGAINST democrats, sure....but you wont find many conservatives manning electioneering posts for GOP candidates and sending them checks unless they demonstrate they are indeed conservative in values. I dont think the GOP merely crowing they all-of-a-sudden found religion will convince most conservatives.after all, the GOP pretty much just took an 8 year crap on conservatives.As a conservative its hard for me to tell someone what the GOP stands for....if anyone finds out......let me know

The Dangers of an Over Reactive Congress |

In looking at our economic picture it occurs to me one of the bigger dangers to our economy is over reaction by the congress. Anytime something as big and powerfull as the federal government acts it must take care not to prooduce unintended consequences of magnificent proportion.
In regard to the auto loans the congress must take care not to promote or sustain excess capacity in this industry...wich is one of the reasons the industry is in the shape it is in now..and would not serve the industry or the tax payer.
As we have seen in the financial bailout how fast things can get out of hand and billions disappear into the black hole .
We must insist upon congress that it do only that wich is required to stabalize markets without undue influence and further damaging markets...this will require a light touch and much foresight. My fear is that through unintended consequence that government intervention could create a quagmire of harmfull unintended economic consequence to the very markets and industries that it is trying to assist,a new creation of lumbering beauracracies to oversee said assistance and the institutionalization of state financed capitalism.
The Dangers of state financed capitalism are no less than the dangers of state financed socialist enterprise...ultimately both are costly,ineffective, and destructive to free societies.
I grow concerned when i percieve the government through intervention try to " save " the economy as this belies a fundamental lack of understanding about capitalist economy. Economic contraction of an economy is every bit as much a healthy sign in an economy as economic expansion and both are required to keep an economy healthy.As we see in todays economic contraction, it exposes and tries to excise those sick parts of the economy from existance in the whole....and this is a very healthy process and completely normal....government intervention interfering with this process is not wise. That is to say government intervention should not try to prohibit the boom-bust cycle but try to moderate the extremes of the boom-bust as the cycle healthily reaches equalibrium due to its own internal forces.To prohibit sick parts of the economy from failing is in essence prohibiting those healthy market replacement factors from developing.This would serve the good of no one except those falsely propped up by unwise government subsidy at the expense of the tax payer and the greater economy at large.The two economic indicators that prevail that would caution against too much government intervention are unemployment rates and GDP.Unemployment today is well within the norms of previous recessionary rates and below that of other severe recessionary trends...under carter and reagan unemployment rates reached highs of nine and ten percent.These rates of unemployment were again reached in the bursting of the dot com bubble. GDP contractions are also well within recessionary norms....i think these two factors merit a very cautious approach to intervention and where intervention is made, should be done with a feather light touch rather than a heavy hand

Browner, President-elect Barack Obama's pick as global warming czar, was listed as one of 14 leaders of a socialist group's Commission for a Sustainable World Society, which calls for "global governance" and says rich countries must shrink their economies to address climate change.
By Thursday, Mrs. Browner's name and biography had been removed from Socialist International's Web page, though a photo of her speaking June 30 to the group's congress in Greece was still available.
Socialist International, an umbrella group for many of the world's social democratic political parties such as Britain's Labor Party, says it supports socialism and is harshly critical of U.S. policies.

Obama's speech was clearly a sacchrine confect. Its hard to remember a speech with more Cliche' or meaningless bromides.
Even worse,After about the first eight minutes it became clear that Obama likes the sound of his own voice and i was immediately hurled into the realization it was a throwback to the clintonesque long-winded oratory leaving one with an inescapable need to get up and stretch ones legs.
Given this, Obama would have been wise to remember The oratory of the man whose bible he put his hand on.Abraham Lincoln. Lincoln's Gettysburg address could be rendered in less than five minutes,yet,left listeners silent with contemplation, introspection, and profound vision of the issues de jour' in their totality. It endures as one of the nations preeminent documents.Indeed, President Obama is no Lincoln.
Of course ,it could not be lost on our nation the significance of this moment. The first Black president,inaugurated the day following Martin Luther King's Holiday and all that holiday represents. However, it seems this significance was somehow overplayed,over emphasized,or over dramaticized to confect a somewhat religous like rapture. Somehow, some authenticity seemed absent.Having lived through that period of history,its trevails,triumphs, and the sacrifices made, seemed rendered plastique' by this event. I watched Martin Luther King's oratories, saw the brutalities he faced, indeed the whole of black america faced in that period.In stark contrast Obama is no Martin Luther King. For someone who sat in the pews of reverend Wrights church for 20 yrs..how could he be? Dr. Martin Luther King would have surely stood up and walked out of that parish never to return.Martin Luther King was the real deal and this event seemed intent on rideing that coat tail as theatre. I recall back to the movie " Guess Whos Coming To Dinner " and the performance of Sydny Portier , when talking with his father explains, that his father,through his trevails, looks upon himself as a blackman. Portier continues explaining his love for a white woman was because, he merely looks upon himself as a man as does his white fiance merely look upon herself as woman and it was that centrality that formed their love for each other. Isnt That feature the true ends of Martin Luther Kings vision and dream? Not the march...but the realities that make the march no longer neccesary.
The Good News: The Democrats Have Won the last election,The Democrats Have Majority in both Houses of Congress, The Democrats Have posession of the Whitehouse, and the Nation celebrates its First Black President.

As Much as I Loath the democrats, their Liberalism,Their acension to complete power, i am delighted the GOP is no longer in power. I am one conservative who frankly is sick and tired of Republicans befouling and stinking up a Conservatives good name...i am sick and tired of Republicans besmirching and delegitimizing Conservatism's good record of public service.
I have no remorse what-so-ever of the disappearance of the republicans occupancy of the whitehouse or their majority in the congress...to this i say a hardy GOOD RIDDANCE.
I do worry about the Republicans future as well as our nations future.Any sane minded person would. Any sane person would be worried about the disappearance of a counter balance to the Liberals complete lock on National power in both the domestic and international realms.
I have recieved countless e-mails from those now competeing to head up the Republican national committee.....i even wrote back to a couple of them telling them exactly what i thought of republicans and their thurough trashing of conservatism. How they rose to power on conservativism's coat-tails only to throw conservatives and conservatism under the bus the instant Bush and the Republican majority took power in 2000. And that i dont percieve any differnce in those now trying to helm up the GOP.
I dont say these things with gladness or gratification of someone who was wise enough to see the future and utter " I told you so ". I say these things as someone who has faithfully voted Republican and carried their water and who was thrown under the bus and run over...and after gaining strength to look up and see what happened, watch that very Bus crash into a wall of political obscurity and totall lack of credibility on virtually EVERY political issue de jour.As with anyone who averted catastrophe i can now wipe my brow and say "whew" Im' glad i wasnt on THAT bus.
Undoubtably the repubicans are going have to spend a lot of time in the wilderness wandering around in the desert here ,there and, yonder, looking for their babtist, that Voice in the wilderness to help cleanse and wash themselves of their sins.Searching for their Christ and Savior to absolve themselves of their infidelities...yet,as with all people who seek redemption....it is only found from within....assisted by a power greater than all of us.
When speaking to others about my conservative beliefes,hopes, and aspirations for our nation ,i am inevitably placed in the position of saying..." hey, I'M NOT A REPUBLICAN Dont BLAME ME FOR THEIR IDIOCIES"... and i fully realize i have no party in wich to place my confidences and faith.I do however long for the day when the republicans rehabilitate themselves.Truely rehabilitate themselves....not the false type redemption of an Alcaholics first attendance at the AA meeting raising his hands in eager anticipation of his peers approval...But the stayed ,quite confidence of a republican party wich has made the sacrifices and has the respect of someone who has fallen off the wagon several times but over time conquered their demons and everybody knows this to be true not by their words..but by their commitment wich has overcome their falls and infidelity and demonstrably shown their metal by their acts.
When that republican party is born again... i suspect many conservatives like myself will then be willing to pick up thier crosses and follow the conviction of our beliefes led by republicans who lead us by example.As for now...i'm still a little bruised up from being thrown off the bus to be picking up my cross for anyone.Im too busy and concerned about trying to get a conservative message out there in the market place of ideas to be distracted by an unredeemed and unrepentant Republican party.That conservative task is much too important to be entrusted to the republicans,besides,they no longer have that ability to credibly convey a conservative message. Strange as it may seem i try to convey and impart conservatism to one person at a time...the republicans have lost even that miniscule ability.And isnt that the heart of the matter ? credibility? And where is it a politcal party turns when they have lost something so fundamentally important as credibility? I dont know...i am no expert on party politics. It seems to me a good start will be by thinking small. By turning a mighty small party into a small but mighty party.This can only be done by those republicans in washington now by building solidarity and unity among themselves.This will require pain and politcial sacrifice FOR the benifit of the future of the party.This will be the first sign of the republicans epiphany . |

Obama just passed a huge administrative tax on the failing auto industry.
WASHINGTON — President Obama will direct federal regulators on Monday to move swiftly on an application by California and 13 other states to set strict automobile emission and fuel efficiency standards, two administration officials said Sunday.
The directive makes good on an Obama campaign pledge and signifies a sharp reversal of Bush administration policy. Granting California and the other states the right to regulate tailpipe emissions would be one of the most emphatic actions Mr. Obama could take to quickly put his stamp on environmental policy.
This is a HUGE administrative tax on the failing Auto industry, By haveing to contend with potentially 50 differing regulatory agencies in the production of automobils will cause the industry a huge and costly administrative barrier to entry for the auto industry.Particularly at a time when the future of the industry is in doubt.
This is no doubt the politicization of economic decisions for the sake of left wing enviormental policy. This in essence puts the automobile industry at the peril of fifity differing regulatory agencies and their own differing domestic agenda.This is in essence the strategy obama has stated before of implementing inviormental policy.Notably in regard to the to the coal industry where he stated that the regulations would not forbid the coal industry from operating, just make so prohibitively costly that it cant.
This politicization of economic policy is the hieght of Government intervention.This move will slow down industrial production in the auto industry,reduce the production of the auto industry,and ultimately harm the potential recorvery of the auto industry at the worst possible time when the industry is in the fight for its very survival.
This purely novice presidential edict could not be more clear.We have a president that is so wholely unqualified to preside as executive it has allready emperiled THE largest industrial sector in the USA.
For those on the fence about Obama somehow governing from the center should be immediately disabused of that notion with all certainty by now..and even more alarming, the wrecklessness in wich he exerts his presidential edicts is breath-takingly perilous in every manner imaginable.

The S-chips legislation passed the senate.This dispicable piece of legislation was passed with the assistance with some of the most despisable GOP senators in the party.It is precisely this type Republican wich the party simply can do without and cripples the GOP and renders the party the democrat-lite party its been for the last eight years
Lets look at the details of the Legislation and the context of the democrat majority in wich it was passed.
1) Democrats are committed to ending years of irresponsible budget policies that have produced historic deficits. Instead of piling trillions of dollars of debt onto our children and grandchildren, we will restore "Pay As You Go" budget discipline.

2)No new deficit spending, no new bridges to nowhere, heaping mountains of debt on our children.

3)If you want to have a new program, figure out a way to pay for it without raising taxes.

4)Following their promise made to the American people during the 2006 campaigns, the House and Senate Democratic majority recently enacted Pay-As-You-Go (PAYGO) budget rules requiring that all tax and entitlement legislation be deficit-neutral. However, they are already turning their back on that promise, as the Senate bill (S. 1893) to reauthorize the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP), authored by Senator Max Baucus (D–MT), would put into motion $60 billion in new deficit spending over the next decade. This is a clear violation of PAYGO and an assault on America's taxpayers.
5)Hiding $60 Billion
The Senate bill would gradually increase federal funding for SCHIP from the current $5.6 billion level to $14.1 billion in 2012. Then, suddenly, funding would plummet to $6.2 billion and $4.7 billion over the subsequent two years, and not top $5.0 billion again through 2017 (see chart 1).[4] If Congress enacts this legislation, lawmakers in 2013 will face two options:
Drop SCHIP funding 70 percent, substantially reducing the number of enrollees, or
Add approximately $60 billion in new spending over the next five years to maintain current enrollment.[5]
It is no mystery that lawmakers will select option two. After all, Congress has a long and rich tradition of masking the true costs of new federal programs by adding in future budget cuts they have no intention of keeping. For example, Congress wrote into the Medicare laws a trigger that is supposed to reduce physician payments if they begin rising too quickly. The rising payments are a symptom of a profoundly flawed physician payment system, which is grounded in administrative pricing and price controls. Rather than reforming the system, Congress sidesteps the tough policy issues and routinely passes "emergency" legislation to reverse the scheduled cuts. Even on the tax side, Congress passes legislation each year preventing the scheduled increase in the Alternative Minimum Tax and extends dozens of expiring tax cuts. Despite the inclusion of option one in the bill, the chances that Congress would allow millions of children to be cut from SCHIP in 2013 are virtually zero. A $60 billion "emergency" package in 2013 would be a forgone conclusion.
6)Bypassing PAYGO
Once the eventual emergency bailout comes, the Senate SCHIP expansion will have added approximately $60 billion to the budget deficit over 10 years. This is a clear violation of the PAYGO budgeting promised by the new Democratic majority. The Senate PAYGO rule requires that all new tax and entitlement legislation be deficit-neutral over one, five, and 10 years. The gimmick of temporarily excluding the $60 billion in deficit spending, and then eventually designating it as an "emergency," will allow the Senate to avoid an official PAYGO point of order. However, the loophole clearly violates the spirit of the law. After Congress violates PAYGO for SCHIP, it will be more likely to violate PAYGO elsewhere. Nearly identical loopholes have been employed to cover up a $15.3 billion PAYGO violation in the House higher education reform bill.[6] Congress is also under pressure to violate PAYGO and add billions of dollars in new farm subsidies. Despite PAYGO's convenient use as a fiscal discipline talking point, lawmakers are not allowing it to actually put a brake on new deficit spending.
7)Conclusion
The Senate SCHIP bill contains numerous problems. The program was originally designed for children in low-income families but would continue enrolling children in middle-class families. Many families eligible for SCHIP would end up losing the private health insurance they already have, a phenomenon known as the "crowd-out" effect. The bill rejects free market principles that should govern health care policy, retreats from any serious health policy reform, and raises taxes. And after all that, the Senate bill would violate congressional Democrats' own PAYGO pledge and add approximately $60 billion to the budget deficit over the next decade. With Congress's approval rating at a record low, lawmakers should rethink the decision to break the PAYGO promises they made to the American people.

President Obama's economic recovery package will actually hurt the economy more in the long run than if he were to do nothing, the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office said Wednesday.
CBO, the official scorekeepers for legislation, said the House and Senate bills will help in the short term but result in so much government debt that within a few years they would crowd out private investment, actually leading to a lower Gross Domestic Product over the next 10 years than if the government had done nothing.
CBO estimates that by 2019 the Senate legislation would reduce GDP by 0.1 percent to 0.3 percent on net. [The House bill] would have similar long-run effects, CBO said in a letter to Sen. Judd Gregg, New Hampshire Republican, who was tapped by Mr. Obama on Tuesday to be Commerce Secretary.

The entry title to this Blog is self explanitory.The GOP has internal problems....BIG PROBLEMS. Problems that can either go unaddressed by the GOP and continue to fester and harm the Party or one that the GOP can address head on.
The problem of RINOs in the party, in my view ,must be addressed forthrightly if the Party is to once again be a Party of integrity.In the most current legislations in the Congress S-Chips and the so-called Stimulus Package are Prime Examples of the problem the GOP has.
In both instances legislation wich offends conservatives,and hopefully the Majority of republicans is being passed into law with the assistance of RINOs.Not only assistance from the RINOs but INDISPENSIBLE Aid. That is to say these legislations would likely NOT PASS without the active assistance of these RINOs.
This assistance provided to the Democrat Party and their Heralds..Obama,Nancy Pelosi,and Harry Reid by the RINOs really does put the question to the GOP as a Whole.
WHAT DOES THE GOP STAND FOR AS A PARTY ? It seems there is no defensable answer to this question. It appears that there are no core issued that the GOP can hold sacrosanct.
It Impresses upon the minds of obeservers of the Legislative process that there is not one single issue that the GOP can unite on and have a position of uncomprimising solidarity.
This is not so much about being the loyal opposition to the current FAR LEFT bunch of democrats now in power but more about the GOP having any uncomprimised issue wich the GOP can claim as their own and can be used to identify what the GOP stands for.
It seems to me that the RINO's must be addressed by the GOP. Its high time the GOP confront the RINOS and the RINOs plainly told....If you place your Senate Seat above the core Values of the Party there is a solution.They can retain their senate seat and be members of the Democrat party. There is no conflict of interest in this.Or Perhaps if the RINOs dont want to be democrats they can reassign their political identity as an Independent. This seems to have worked out well for Senator Leiberman.In any event it would seem very prudent for the GOP in their rebuilding efforts, to insist that they not retain their political identity as members of the GOP
Would it not be better to have a Solid GOP party than to have a Party constantly Undermined by the RINOs?The RINOs can still vote exactly as they always have but those votes would not be cast at the Expense,Cost and damage to the GOP brand.Is not that premium on party values, unity,and solidarity more valuable than token party members that can not be relied upon when crunch time comes? WHAT GOOD comes to the party when the GOP has members wich are essentially rubber stamps for the Agendas of Obama,Pelosi,Reid and the Democrat brand?
These RINO's certainly would understand this. Its not like the loss of the RINOs is going to change any legislative agenda, success, or failure. Their departure would however deprive the Democrats of the propaganda windfall they recieve in saying they have found "bipartisan" agreement and have that banner paraded in Media headlines.The GOP would certainly benifit by their departure in terms of having a political brand wich is not undermined and corrupt.Lets face it,currently the GOP brand is meaningless.It has no value as a banner. No one knows what it represents or stands for.No one counts on the GOP for a unified principled stand.
Isnt this what the purpose of a political party is ultimately all about ? what it stands for ? Isnt this why people join a political party? because it stands for something that is essentially uncorruptable ? A set of prinicples and beliefes that are not EVER compromised or yielded irrespective of consequences and unpopularity of the moment? Issues that are so fudamentally sacrosanct that those prinicples are essentially the existenial banner of the party?
It seems to me that the GOP is in a process of trying to rebuild.What better time to jettison that existing dead wood of the Party than now.At least this would be a clear declaration by the GOP that it at least has an identity other than whats printed on their letterhead.

Susan Collins (R-Maine) was working to broker a deal with a Democratic colleague that would steer $20 billion in relief to struggling state governments when she was abruptly called into the office of House Speaker J. Dennis Hastert (R). Waiting there was Vice President Richard B. Cheney, who had a stern message. In control of both chambers of Congress and the White House, Cheney warned her -- "very strongly," according to Collins -- Republicans were in no mood to compromise with moderate Democrats.
Collins chose to stand her ground and, with Sen. Ben Nelson (D-Neb.), won the aid they were seeking.
In recent weeks, Collins has once again been the focus of White House attention, this time as the central player in a deal that saw a massive stimulus package trimmed to below $800 billion in order to win the critical support of a trio of Republicans for the legislation.
Again working with Nelson, Collins was wooed directly by President Obama and White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel, drawing the consternation of many of her fellow Republicans in the process.

Nobel prize winner and former US vice president Al Gore is to collaborate in a new investment initiative in so-called clean technology in a bid to fight climate change.
Mr Gore's fund management firm Generation Investment Management, set up with David Blood, a former Goldman Sachs banker, has penned a deal with Kleiner Perkins Caufield and Byers, a US technology venture capital firm.
Mr Gore said investments of about one per cent of global GDP in new energy technologies were needed to change businesses over to a high carbon economy.
"We're gearing up to play a key role in unleashing that investment," he said.
A joint fund could be set up to invest in businesses in the fields of renewable energy, recycling, and water purification. Mr Gore will join KPCB as a partner, while John Doerr of KPCB will join Generation's advisory board.
KPCB has invested £97 million in green technology since 1999.
Mr Gore is to donate his salary from Kleiner to environmental foundation the Alliance of Climate Protection, which he chairs.

Feb. 9 (Bloomberg) -- Republican Senators are questioning whether President Barack Obama’s stimulus bill contains the right mix of tax breaks and cash infusions to jump-start the economy.
Tragically, no one from either party is objecting to the health provisions slipped in without discussion. These provisions reflect the handiwork of Tom Daschle, until recently the nominee to head the Health and Human Services Department.
Senators should read these provisions and vote against them because they are dangerous to your health. (Page numbers refer to H.R. 1 EH, pdf version).
The bill’s health rules will affect “every individual in the United States” (445, 454, 479). Your medical treatments will be tracked electronically by a federal system. Having electronic medical records at your fingertips, easily transferred to a hospital, is beneficial. It will help avoid duplicate tests and errors.
But the bill goes further. One new bureaucracy, the National Coordinator of Health Information Technology, will monitor treatments to make sure your doctor is doing what the federal government deems appropriate and cost effective. The goal is to reduce costs and “guide” your doctor’s decisions (442, 446). These provisions in the stimulus bill are virtually identical to what Daschle prescribed in his 2008 book, “Critical: What We Can Do About the Health-Care Crisis.” According to Daschle, doctors have to give up autonomy and “learn to operate less like solo practitioners.”
Keeping doctors informed of the newest medical findings is important, but enforcing uniformity goes too far.
New Penalties
Hospitals and doctors that are not “meaningful users” of the new system will face penalties. “Meaningful user” isn’t defined in the bill. That will be left to the HHS secretary, who will be empowered to impose “more stringent measures of meaningful use over time” (511, 518, 540-541)
What penalties will deter your doctor from going beyond the electronically delivered protocols when your condition is atypical or you need an experimental treatment? The vagueness is intentional. In his book, Daschle proposed an appointed body with vast powers to make the “tough” decisions elected politicians won’t make.
The stimulus bill does that, and calls it the Federal Coordinating Council for Comparative Effectiveness Research (190-192). The goal, Daschle’s book explained, is to slow the development and use of new medications and technologies because they are driving up costs. He praises Europeans for being more willing to accept “hopeless diagnoses” and “forgo experimental treatments,” and he chastises Americans for expecting too much from the health-care system.
Elderly Hardest Hit
Daschle says health-care reform “will not be pain free.” Seniors should be more accepting of the conditions that come with age instead of treating them. That means the elderly will bear the brunt.
Medicare now pays for treatments deemed safe and effective. The stimulus bill would change that and apply a cost- effectiveness standard set by the Federal Council (464).
The Federal Council is modeled after a U.K. board discussed in Daschle’s book. This board approves or rejects treatments using a formula that divides the cost of the treatment by the number of years the patient is likely to benefit. Treatments for younger patients are more often approved than treatments for diseases that affect the elderly, such as osteoporosis.
In 2006, a U.K. health board decreed that elderly patients with macular degeneration had to wait until they went blind in one eye before they could get a costly new drug to save the other eye. It took almost three years of public protests before the board reversed its decision.
Hidden Provisions
If the Obama administration’s economic stimulus bill passes the Senate in its current form, seniors in the U.S. will face similar rationing. Defenders of the system say that individuals benefit in younger years and sacrifice later.
The stimulus bill will affect every part of health care, from medical and nursing education, to how patients are treated and how much hospitals get paid. The bill allocates more funding for this bureaucracy than for the Army, Navy, Marines, and Air Force combined (90-92, 174-177, 181).
Hiding health legislation in a stimulus bill is intentional. Daschle supported the Clinton administration’s health-care overhaul in 1994, and attributed its failure to debate and delay. A year ago, Daschle wrote that the next president should act quickly before critics mount an opposition. “If that means attaching a health-care plan to the federal budget, so be it,” he said. “The issue is too important to be stalled by Senate protocol.”
More Scrutiny Needed
On Friday, President Obama called it “inexcusable and irresponsible” for senators to delay passing the stimulus bill. In truth, this bill needs more scrutiny.
The health-care industry is the largest employer in the U.S. It produces almost 17 percent of the nation’s gross domestic product. Yet the bill treats health care the way European governments do: as a cost problem instead of a growth industry. Imagine limiting growth and innovation in the electronics or auto industry during this downturn. This stimulus is dangerous to your health and the economy.

Causes of the recession
In the wake of the 1973 oil crisis and the 1979 energy crisis, stagflation began to afflict the economy of the United States. Unemployment had risen from 5.1% in January 1974 to a high of 9.0% in May 1975. Although it had gradually declined to 5.6% by May 1979, unemployment began rising again thereafter. It jumped sharply to 6.9% in April 1980 and to 7.5% in May 1980. A mild recession from January to July 1980 kept unemployment high, but despite economic recovery unemployment remained at historically high levels (about 7.5%) through the end of 1981.[5] Inflation, which had averaged 3.2% annually in the post-war period, had more than doubled after the 1973 oil shock to a 7.7% annual rate. Inflation reached 9.1% in 1975, the highest rate since 1947. Inflation declined to 5.8% the following year, but then edged higher. By 1979, inflation reached a startling 11.3% and in 1980 soared to 13.5%.[6][1]
A brief recession occurred in 1980. Several key industries—including housing, steel manufacturing and automobile production—experienced a downturn from which they did not recover through the end of the next recession. Many of the economic sectors that supplied these basic industries were also hard-hit.[7]
Determined to wring inflation out of the economy, Federal Reserve chairman Paul Volcker slowed the rate of growth of the money supply and raised interest rates. The federal funds rate, which was about 11% in 1979, rose to 20% by June 1981. The prime interest rate, at the time a highly important economic measure, eventually reached 21.5% in June 1982.[2][8]

The Federal Reserve's extremely tight monetary policy intentionally plunged the American economy into a deep recession.[9]
Employment conditions deteriorated throughout the year. The unemployment rate in the U.S. reached 10.8% in December 1982—higher than at any time in post-war era. Job cutbacks were particularly severe in housing, steel and automobiles. By September 1982, the jobless rate reached 10.8%. Twelve million people were unemployed, an increase of 4.2 million people since July 1981.[5] Unemployment rates for every major group reached post-war highs, with men age 20 and over particularly hard hit. Blacks and Hispanics suffered proportionally greater job losses than whites.[7]

In 1932, automobile production shriveled by 90%.
President Barack Obama has turned fearmongering into an art form. He has repeatedly raised the specter of another Great Depression. First, he did so to win votes in the November election. He has done so again recently to sway congressional votes for his stimulus package.
This fearmongering may be good politics, but it is bad history and bad economics. It is bad history because our current economic woes don't come close to those of the 1930s. At worst, a comparison to the 1981-82 recession might be appropriate. Consider the job losses that Mr. Obama always cites. In the last year, the U.S. economy shed 3.4 million jobs. That's a grim statistic for sure, but represents just 2.2% of the labor force. From November 1981 to October 1982, 2.4 million jobs were lost -- fewer in number than today, but the labor force was smaller. So 1981-82 job losses totaled 2.2% of the labor force, the same as now.
Job losses in the Great Depression were of an entirely different magnitude. In 1930, the economy shed 4.8% of the labor force. In 1931, 6.5%. And then in 1932, another 7.1%. Jobs were being lost at double or triple the rate of 2008-09 or 1981-82.
This was reflected in unemployment rates. The latest survey pegs U.S. unemployment at 7.6%. That's more than three percentage points below the 1982 peak (10.8%) and not even a third of the peak in 1932 (25.2%). You simply can't equate 7.6% unemployment with the Great Depression.
Other economic statistics also dispel any analogy between today's economic woes and the Great Depression. Real gross domestic product (GDP) rose in 2008, despite a bad fourth quarter. The Congressional Budget Office projects a GDP decline of 2% in 2009. That's comparable to 1982, when GDP contracted by 1.9%. It is nothing like 1930, when GDP fell by 9%, or 1931, when GDP contracted by another 8%, or 1932, when it fell yet another 13%.
Auto production last year declined by roughly 25%. That looks good compared to 1932, when production shriveled by 90%. The failure of a couple of dozen banks in 2008 just doesn't compare to over 10,000 bank failures in 1933, or even the 3,000-plus bank (Savings & Loan) failures in 1987-88. Stockholders can take some solace from the fact that the recent stock market debacle doesn't come close to the 90% devaluation of the early 1930s.
Mr. Obama's analogies to the Great Depression are not only historically inaccurate, they're also dangerous. Repeated warnings from the White House about a coming economic apocalypse aren't likely to raise consumer and investor expectations for the future. In fact, they have contributed to the continuing decline in consumer confidence that is restraining a spending pickup. Beyond that, fearmongering can trigger a political stampede to embrace a "recovery" package that delivers a lot less than it promises. A more cool-headed assessment of the economy's woes might produce better policies.

The old saying " there is nothing new under the sun" rings so very true..another axiom is " Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it".
I think it appropriate to develope a well based understanding of the current Stimulus and the larger political context in wich it occurs,to keep the above maxims in mind.These maxims are paramount for a seeing a way forward based on sound political reason.
In developing this better understanding, i think study of a very similar historical example is the best method to be undertaken.
The concept of "Political Capitalism" and the "privlidged and disadvantaged castes" wich underlie this concept is a magnificent device with in wich to create a better understanding of the events of government wich we witness today.
I strongly urge and recommend to all those who seek to increase their political understanding of the political events of today to read this essay by Dr.Chris Mathew Sciabarra.He forwards some imporatant principles, wich i think, create the basis of the fullest understanding of these political events of today and are indispensible for seeing our way out of these woods or be doomed to repeat grave mistakes of the past with its long term negative impacts.

However, with the market intervention of government, there is a necessary creation of conflict between those classes of people who are the beneficiaries of State privilege and those of what Mises calls, a burdened "caste."
Thus, there prevails a solidarity of interests among all caste members and a conflict of interests among the various castes. Each privileged caste aims at the attainment of new privileges and at the preservation of the old ones. Each underprivileged caste aims at the abolition of its disqualifications. Within a caste society there is an irreconcilable antagonism between the interests of the various castes. (von Mises, 1978, p3)"

The Environmental Protection Agency will reopen the possibility of regulating carbon dioxide emissions from coal-fired power plants, tossing aside a December Bush administration memorandum that declared that the agency would not limit the emissions.

"Since cows produce a certain amount of methane. And methane would be regulated under The Clean Air Act, then cows and pigs would be subject to a tax. Blackburn said projections she has seen suggest that for dairy cows the tax would be about $175 a head, $20 per pig and $88 for beef stock.
Plus, a tax on farmers would also mean something to consumers. Blackburn said, “the cost of milk is going to go up and all of your dairy products.”
This tax would also mean fewer jobs, because according to Blackburn, “they are going to be putting more money into compliance and regulation rather than putting that money into jobs creation.” It seems counterintuitive, especially at a time when the economy is in a job crisis already.
The Heritage Foundation has done research into the cost of these regulations. According to an article by Senior Policy Analyst Ben Lieberman, “The impact on the overall economy, as measured by gross domestic product (GDP), is substantial. The cumulative GDP losses for 2010 to 2029 approach $7 trillion. Single-year losses exceed $600 billion in 2029, more than $5,000 per household.”

There will be no convictions as there was no policy to commit torture.If one looks at the international convention's definition of " Torture " no activity or practice is mentioned. The definition is a vaguely worded instrument with holes big enough to drive a truck through.The Definition as a legal instrument is mostly worthless except in the most overt forms of torture and abuse.Then there is the term of art "Unlawfull Combatant " wich further muddys the waters.
There was and is no policy for torture in the USA and the coersive techniques in themselves are NOT torture unless they exceed the difined threshhold wich constitutes torture.In the handfull of cases where torture has occured it has been the result of careless and wholely wreckless individuals with inadequate oversight and not any policy initiative ,stance,or implementation.
With this said the democrat goons stridently persist in their witch-hunt drooling over the chance to fullfill their goonish wet dreams and conduct their very own Stalinist Show Trials.
This would keep their own disasterous inadequacies and incompetence off the front pages and nightly news machines as their psycho-babble rants take center stage.This would also help appease their far left wing base wich is very dissatisfied.

Israel and its citizens must BEWARE Obama...Obama sat in a church for over 20 years wich is openly hostile to Israel and Jews....as a matter of fact it is a tennant of " Black Liberation Theology "
It is said by his supporters that Obama is a genius,extremely " intelligent" so on, so forth...yet Obama claims he never new of the radical theology of the church he and his family attended for over 20 years ?
Hopefully Netanyahu is much too smart to fall for any of the Obama ,apologist rhetoric...Hopefully Netanyahu is keen enough to realize that Obama,his administration,and the democrats are NOT their friends.....The Jew hatreds wich are now the norm in democrat circles is at epic proportions...Israel would do well to recognize this peril Obama and the Jew hating democrats have and how this will impact US policy these next four years.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) A new report from an environmental groups says riverfront communities face a dual threat from global warming and improper floodplain management.
The National Wildlife Federation says global warming has led to more heavy rainfall events, with the Midwest and south-central regions of the U.S. showing the largest rainfall increases.
The combination of that heavy rainfall and overbuilding in floodplains leave residents along rivers vulnerable.
The NWF recommended taking steps to reduce global warming, and said the government should restrict building in high-risk areas and encourage voluntary buyouts of high-risk properties and then turn those areas into either open spaces or require increased building elevations.

No Health Care Crisis |

There is no health care " crisis " in the US.......private enterprise has covered more americans with the luxury of health care than any other entity...it has done so without going bankrupt wich medicare and medicaid is on the verge of bankruptcy and only continued to exist through the miriacle of government unfunded liability and its ability to print money...a luxury wich private enterprise does not have...private enterprise MUST exist in the real world...not the la-la land of washington beauraucrats.
In only one context can healthcare be considered in crisis....if healthcare is considered a giant welfare program...( universal health care ). Private health care was never intended to be a welfare program..it was intended to create risk pools wich could, abide by the laws of economics...and continue to sustain itself while providing benifits to its members.
