American Solutions for Winning the Future announced today that it will conduct a free comprehensive briefing about the changes required to make our government work. The briefing will take place on Monday, July 23rd from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. ET at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Washington, DC and will be webcast LIVE at http://www.AmericanSolutions.com. The webcast will be simultaneously translated into Spanish. Former Speaker of the House and American Solutions General Chairman, Newt Gingrich will lead the briefing. In it, he will talk about transforming government from the "world that fails" to the "world that works" as the essential step toward limited, effective government. But more than making government cost less and perform better, Gingrich will explain the principles that built America and made it great -- hard work, entrepreneurialism, innovation and optimism -- and how to reapply them to our greatest national challenges. "This briefing is the first step in a long process," Gingrich said. "Real change requires real change and that change begins with helping people understand why the current government bureaucracies are failing and what principles from the world that are working can be applied to transform our government institutions so that they perform at that same level." The briefing will outline how citizens can transform government at all levels -- from city councils to state legislatures to Washington, DC. A recent American Solutions poll indicated that 84 percent of Americans agree that change is needed at all levels of government and cannot focus solely on the presidency. "Americans realize that change cannot be implemented by one person elected to serve in the White House; rather, it will require the other 511,000 elected officials to fundamentally transform government," Gingrich said. The American Solutions briefing on Monday is a forerunner to "Solutions Day" nationwide workshops on September 27 and 29.
American Solutions for Winning the Future is a new, non-partisan organization built around three goals: to defend America and our allies abroad and defeat our enemies, to strengthen and revitalize America's core values, and to move the government into the 21st Century. Its General Chairman is former Speaker Newt Gingrich. |
