A government broken

The News & Observer--Letter
March 22, 2008

Recent headlines support the premise of Newt Gingrich's current best seller "Real Change": Government (for which we pay royally) is broken. Two stories, superimposed upon years of state government scandals, are illustrative.
Last month, we learned that state government paid companies that employ high school graduates $61 an hour to take mental health "clients" to shopping malls. While the governor ducked responsibility and his Department of Health and Human Services secretary went over the hill, shady entrepreneurs recruited door-to-door and made millions.

Now we find that one of the suspects in the killing of a UNC student is a multiple felon, allowed to remain on the street by a broken justice system.

This is outrageous, and we have a right to be darned angry.

It's an election year, and the same shopworn names are in the news as the entrenched politicos jockey for position. Gingrich's book should be required reading for everyone running for state office. Then each candidate should be made to answer this question: Do you agree that government is broken, and if so, what would you do to fix it?

We deserve nothing less.

No one has been more outspoken in this campaign season about our "government being broken" than the good Doctor (the man the tax increasing, big government liberals within both parties have nicknamed: "Dr. No", for his reputation of consistently voting down tax increases and unbalanced budgets). He's the "thinking man's candidate". He was just re-elected this March to his 11th term in Congress, to continue saying no to more obtrusive, oppressive, unconstitutional, and immoral government. He was voted a number of times in a row with the "tax-payers best friend" award. He is the honorable Congressman Dr. Ron Paul, Republican candidate for the Presidency of this nation. In spite of false mainstream media and GOP leadership bias, he is still in the race, and doing quite well in many areas, though the results will never be brought to the light of day by the Mainstream media. His truly conservative positions on everything concerning the constitution and the roles of government is a breath of fresh air to all true liberty loving conservatives. His message is one being silenced by the establishment elitists however. But because they haven't (yet) silenced free speech on the internet, you can read this and learn how his message (Supporters have created DVDs with his message for next to no cost at www.RonPaulDVD.com, which is no less a revolution) is being dubbed "the cure for voter apathy" in light of all the other abysmal presidential candidates we are given to choose from. These DVDs are a MUST VIEW before tax day. Order by the hundreds to share with others. Regardless of what some may say his chances of being seated in the White House are, his message will be carried on past November and will be used to hold other Reps in Congress and the Senate accountable. Candidates who hold his position on the issues are being campaigned for each week. With the primaries drawing near here in NC, much work has been accomplished but more still remains. Real Change is taking place, a little at a time.........

Apathy has been drummed into the good citizens since they were old enough to think. It is powerful and difficult to convince the masses that they actually can do something about their snafu government. But how is the Holy Grail of questions! If you double a penny every day, your a millionaire inside of one month. You are the "penny." The INTERNET provides a fantastic new weapon in fight against apathy. In an instant, you can communicate with all the other millions of pissed off TAXPAYERS... seek and you will find it. It's time for the angry Taxpayer to BREAKBALLZ.
