Great report. One factual error. Aaron Burr was not the Vice President on January 12, 1806. Burr's term ended on March 4, 1805. If the Vice President was in attendance at this church service, it was George Clinton.

Once our Constitution Fathers ( President George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin and other famed of 1776 men first founder words of "GOD" in Washington D.C. that time and was guided by "GOD". Nobody can dare to take "GOD" out from any building, dollar papers and coins, etc. .They already accepted GOD's gifted to the America Promised Land. Obama is not GOD !!. Hopefully sooner Obama might kick out as President or impeachment . He think he is big man no he is really very little man .

It has long been the tactic of the Socialist to control and revise history... Carl Marx, taught that he who writes history, controls the future. Humanist and the socialist movement in the world are very busy revising history to fit their agenda. Revisionist historians are well and alive in the halls of academia.

It is no surprise that the humanist agenda and it's political allies in the Socialist movement are actively engaged in eliminating any reference to America's Christian heritage. The precepts for a Christian social order often oppose the humanist and socialist agenda... It therefore, becomes necessary to revise history... too, destroy the foundations of our Christian heritage, in order to build a humanist secular order, where the tenants of socialism can thrive.

What can we do? The Christian's only recourse to this overt assault by the humanist agenda is to confront it directly wherever it is found. Christian's need to stand up for Christian precepts at home, work, school and especially, in our government. Christian's must begin to insist that those who call themselves Christian's live according to the tenants of Christ.

Lawyers, Politicians, Judges, all those in leadership positions (government or business) that claim to be Christian's need to be judged and held accountable to Godly precepts.... Where they refuse, or fail they need to be separated from fellowship by the local Church... Excommunicate those who oppose Chirst from within the Church as heretics.

Until, the Church is willing to identify and separate those among them who have a worldly agenda... the Church will continue its slip down the path into total Apostasy. Judgment must first begin in the House of God, if we are to have any hope of righteous leadership in the halls of our Capitols.

Pastors and Elders in every denomination need to separate the unbeliever from their midst... The penalty for supporting a secular world agenda should be loss of fellowship with the Truth and the Church. What fellowship hath light with darkness... least the darkness destroy the fruit of the light.

In my fathers day those who espoused the tenants of secularism were marked. The Church leadership shunned them. Christians would not do business with the ungodly... They would not elect, politician's, or suffer judges or attorney's whose character did not meet strong Judeo/Christian moral and ethical standards. The entire Nation understood that to be a Christian, required more than lip service... It required a dedicated life of service to Christ and the community. Those who refused to conduct their businesses or profession's in a Godly manner were marked and ostracized by the Church... at one time, the majority in the community.

Officials, and leaders had a stong sense of moral duty and lived by Judeo/Christian precepts... Judges were not appointed to the bench, if they were not of strong Judeo/Christian character... etc, etc.

Until Pastors and the Elders in the majority of this Nations denominational Churches decide too uphold the tenants of the Christian Faith... and require their members to do likewise; we, as a nation will suffer from internal moral decay... and bad leadership. A nation lead by the unjust and immoral shall suffer at the hand of the unrighteous judge...

Best Regards;

Much is said about our founding fathers and what they believed. My husband's family came to America from England in the mid 1630's. They were active in the Revolution and in early Colonial and American Government. They would qualify as "founding fathers". In the late 1800's the family had a reunion of which there fortunately is a transcript. I found this - from one of the speakers - to be of note. I will quote from 1867:
"What books did those early settlers read? They were not ignorant unthinking men. They did not have the machinery that we have, or all the activities and excitements that we have. Think for a moment of the books that you are most accustomed to read and which you like the best. How many of them have been written by our great authors! Those of course, or nearly all of them, were not written when this town was settled. What about the great writers of our English? In foreign lands Shakespeare and Lord Bacon were still living when Rev. John Youngs (an early colonial settler) was a boy and until he became nearly a man. John Milton was ten years younger than John Youngs, and his Paradise Lost was not published until 29 or 30 years after the settlement of this town. Joh Bunyan - "glorious John Bunyon" as his admirers call him, was 12 years old when this town was settled: and so I might enumerate a large number of able writers to whom we look and whose pages we read with so much interest and delight. Those early ancestors of ours had but few books, and there were a few hymns perhaps familiar to some of you which are older than this town, but their number is very small. Why, we feel sometimes looking back 227 years as if we were looking back to the dark ages themselves. If we consider the light which illuminates our path, if we look to the progress of art and science in our day, to learning and literature, and compare it with the light which shone upon the steps of those early, those noble ancestors of ours, their period was dark indeed; but they had one book. Sir Walter Scott, who was a prodigy in literature, and who wrote so many books himself, when he drew near to the end of his days, you may well remember, asked his son in law to read to him. That son in law, Lockhart, asked him, "what book?" "Why there is but one book." was the reply. That book of course was the Bible. These early settlers of ours had that book, and what is better, they read it; they loved it and tried to live by it."
This says it all to me. We can try to deny who we are. We can try to make outselves into something other than what we are. But our Country, like it or not, was founded by men who believed in living by religious principles. And if you are an American, like it or not, this is your heritage. It is not a heritage of a religion, but it IS a religous heritage.

"The American keep electing people to public office that do not have true American values that America was founded on so God is on the back burner for now."
I totally agree. And education to the people is of paramount importance about our Constitution.
I admitt, we do have some people in this country that are out to destroy the morals, principles, and ethics, of our nation and are doing a pretty good job at doing it.
We need to hold steadfast and keep speaking out and telling Americans why we believe they way we do...."That is because of our Constitution" which is also being threatened as well.

May we keep the faith and strengthen the challenges ahead.

Happy New Year!

The 2nd reference has a date of July 30, 1956 as the official date of passage for using this motto.
My family has been in the "states" or colonies for over 300 years and I went to public schools in the heartland of these great states. I have noticed that some readers of this blog are unable to carry on a sensible and well thought out discussion on this topic without resorting to name calling and and the use of improper language. Maybe Karl Rove was right when he said, "As people do better, they start voting like Republicans - unless they have too much education and vote Democratic, which proves there can be too much of a good thing." With that I sign off.

Linda Cave. Nobody is denying your "right" to worship, or not, in public. These things being erased, are OUR HISTORY. Take your whining back to your liberal godless friends in the Dumbo-crat party. And if you dont like it feel free to go to h3ll, if you believe in one that is.

What people need to do is really read the First Amendment. It doesn't say religion should stay out of government, it says government should stay out of religion. That was to protect us from a one religion country. If we don't have morals, which comes from our beliefs in God, then we have no country. My heart was warmed this year with all the people that said "Merry Christmas". I think people are getting tired of the politically correct attitude in this country. I know I am.

"We the people" have allowed our country to become what it is because we have not paid attention and relied on our elected officials. Yes, we need to get information out to people. Here are a few legit. sites I use to keep up on things: NumbersUSA, they deal with the immigration issues, Act for American, Joel Rosenberg's site, Robert Spencer's Jihad Watch. Jihad Watch and Act for America will wake you up. Also for those people that are unaware, Congress.org makes it possible to contact your individuals Senators and Represenatives with one e-mail, or if you like a fax or a letter. It will also inform you how they voted on a subject matter. Naturally you can go to your respective Senators and Represenatives own web sites. I find there are a lot of individuals that don't even know who represents them. Believe me they don't like to hear from "We the people". Makes them really nervous. There is also Citizens Against Goverenment Waste, and of course New Gingrich's site, just to name a few. Yes it takes time to get informed. However, if "we the people" don't let our voices be heard, we are going to continue to travel down the same path we are headed. It's a slippery slope.

Linda Cave should check her facts and her place of education. Was it in the U.S.A.?

The country has become a me me me and whats in it for me place now. We need to get back to anyplace in our past, anything is better than were we are headed. and only god can save us from ourselves. so many people are fed up and don't know how we got here and they pass e-mail around stating they are mad as hell. we need to reach these people and show them how to contact a state rep or congressman. That is how we got here we the people failed. pray for the ones who gave everyting to preserve our freedom.

Thomas Jefferson never meant to have God removed from government. He promoted no "ONE" religion would be in control of this country along with the government. This did not mean that spritual sayings or objects should be removed from public grounds. If that were the case a lot of the buildings that went up in his time, and after, would never have been built.
The whole thung about religion/God in public only started about 60 years ag. It was never meant to be that way.
When I was in the first grade we said prayer and read Psalm 23 and even though the Our Father was said differently than in my religion it didn't hurt me.
One of the other things that drives me nuts is the elimination of singing patriotic songs in school just because the have the word God or Lord in them. We need to build Patriotism in our next generations.
In other words Let's acually follow the constitution not make things up as we go along if our beliefs interfere with those of our Founding Fathers.

Although it's not an easy read, I would recommend the lengthy "The Christian Life and Character of the Civil Institutions of the United States," by Benjamin Morris. It leaves no doubt as to the intent of the founders and the origins of our country of laws.

I have one question. Who gave the final ok? Someone had to say it was alright before the final product was put on the walls and in the pages on display. This is the person or persons who should be questioned as to the purpose of leaving out important parts of OUR history.

By GodFirst @ Tuesday, December 30, 2008 3:15 PM
A hint of what our new president thinks of God's Word was evident in the way he distorted the scriptures during his campaign! Just read your Bibles and see what God did to his chosen people of Jerusalem and Judah because they turned their backs on him. Compare this with what our country is doing now and you'll see why we're going down the tubes -- we've turned our backs on God.

By JustAJoe @ Tuesday, December 30, 2008 3:13 PM
The Quakers, Methodist, Baptist and other "dissenter religions" knew that any public establishment of religion was a sign of weakness of religion in the people.

In our form of government, Religion is a matter of private concern. This is due largely to the efforts of Thomas Jefferson, who toiled unceasingly in the House of Burgess to have Virginia repeal the laws establishing a state religion. He was successful in both Virginia and New York, the effective capitol of the nation at the time. This IS out history and heritage.

A religious people need no laws of religion and an irreligious people are not made religious by them. This is the wisdom of our forefathers.

By Linda Cave @ Tuesday, December 30, 2008 11:03 AM
Our country made it through approximately 180 years with the national motto of "E Pluribus Unum." The fathers (and indirectly, the mothers) of our country purposefully did not include references to a God or Gods in our founding documents. I even made it through public schools in the 1950s and 60s without a daily school prayer. My parents considered religion to be entirely a personal or family matter, as did many others of the same era and of no business to anyone outside of our family. Unfortunately, this does not seem to be the opinion of some very vocal people today. Please allow families to be in charge of their personal religious mores and do not impose your beliefs on me. Instead practice the golden rule which, I believe, is universal in one form or another, "And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise." Luke 6:31

By linwicks @ Sunday, December 21, 2008 2:06 PM
How do we know what is right or wrong? Ans: God & Religion. How were are laws developed? Ans: God & Religion. Where did marriage come from? Ans: God & Religion. Our entire heritage and history is from God & Religion. We can not have any true historical record of our country, our values, our laws without including God & Religion. When those that don't believe in God & Religion state they don't need those ideals to be good, then as them, "where did your morals and values come from?" They can't accurately answer that without including God & Religion. As Citizens of this country, we need to be responsible and as the tough questions of the candidates running for office. We need to make them accountable to us for their anti-religious stances when they make them. We The People have the power and we need to learn to use it again.

God must not be removed from our country, less God will leave us. I thank the Lord for the millions of people that pray for this country everyday, as their prayers may save this country spite it's self. God Bless American!

An absolutely fantastic, thorough, well-researched and unbiased report. It's time America wakes up to the religious revisions going on at many historic sites around the country.

As Chuck Norris' chaplain, I'm glad to be fighting with you for the soul of our country!

The American keep electing people to public office that do not have true American values that America was founded on so God is on the back burner for now.

Obama for one.

But you people that want God out of the picture get ready for the Natural Gas to be turn on HIGH. Your time is coming.

If this country would expel all those that want God out of the picture we as a nation would be much better off.

But you elected them so just tighten your belt for the road is just now beginning to get bumpy. You haven't seen anything yet.
