Politicians from opposite ends of the political spectrum will debate health care at Southeast Missouri State University this fall.

Howard Dean, former chairman of the Democratic National Committee, and Newt Gingrich, former speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, will discuss the topic Oct. 28 at the Show Me Center, said Dex Tuttle, assistant director of campus life.

"It's a hot topic," he said. "It's something that the students are obviously interested in."

Dean, also the former governor of Vermont, and Gingrich will express their points of view on health care for about 20 minutes each before taking questions from the audience, Tuttle said.

What is wrong with a free people that allow a social welfare health bill be crammed down their throat without even a murmur? APATHY!

If you're not out in the streets and raising hell about how this President has distorted our constitutional rights, then you deserve what you get.

The GOP cannot field any candidate that has a clean background and everyone wonders why they can't win???

How about forcing all government workers and elected officials into Medicare, using "clearing houses" like Secure Horizon, for a test period of five years. If, after that test period, all of them agree that their NEW medical coverage is better than their OLD system, regular citizens could have the option of joining them. Maybe, if enough government workers and politicians died, like my dad did, we could balance the budget.

Hot,

I'm not so sure; don't you think it's too early to admit defeat?

That being said, the date does seem to be rather delayed.

Either way it will be a great debate... I'm surprised Dean has the guts to face Newt? Am I missing something? From everything I know Dean is almost certain to lose???

Oct.??????????

Obama will have the health care bill passed by then, with or without any agreement from the voters.
