Come back to the truths of the Declaration of Independence

Just in time for Independence Day, the Supreme Court has come out with a decision that forces supporters of racial and ethnic quotas to reacquaint themselves with the truths of our nation’s birth certificate, the Declaration of Independence.

In Ricci v. DeStafano, the high court ruled that the City of New Haven Connecticut was wrong to deny a promotion to firefighter Frank Ricci on the basis of his race. Ricci, who is white, quit his second job and studied 13 hours a day to pass a test for promotion within the fire department. But because no African-Americans scored high enough on the test to be promoted, the powers-that-be in New Haven tossed out the scores and promoted no one.

The Supreme Court said this was wrong and thus dealt a stiff blow to those who would respond to the question, “Where do our rights come from?” with the answer, “Government.”

When you believe that government is the source of rights, government – even government with “empathy” – is perfectly justified in denying the equality of its subjects. It can treat someone like Frank Ricci differently on the basis of his race or ethnicity because Frank Ricci and every other person living under that government has no more and no less dignity, responsibility and worth than government decides to grant them.

But the United States of America is not that kind of country.

Despite the best efforts of the elite media to portray it as one, the source of our rights as Americans is not a theological or religious question. It is a fundamental question of political history.

If I were Barak Obama, I would not want to debate Newt in 2012. But that I believe that will happen and I believe Newt Gingrich will be the next president. Good luck!

Like to wish all my Republican friends a happy 4th of July. I hope your Republican. Newt and Howard Dean debate? I can't wait to see that. Speaking of which, how is the GOPs approval rating? I noticed we lost Gov Sanford, and Sen Ensign to scandals. Not only that lost another seat in the Senate.

Great stuff on C-Span lately. Please remeber our troops and Intelligence officals. Nobody knows how precious freedom is untill its taken away. Sometimes I think Americans forget.

Independence day means little anymore.
You people have elected SATAN to remove Our Freedom.

Newt I agree. Loosing sight of this basic, fundamental fact...is an attack on the very essence of the American soul. Disregard for this core belief of the Founding Fathers, is reflected in the careless attitudes of existing government policies that have infiltrated our culture and educational system. Immigrants of past generations came to America with a hearts desire to become American; a will to embrace, change, adapt, integrate and become identified with the hope they saw in America. They embraced the American dream, a dream that became reality for them and generations afterward. I think fear has gripped a generation who have no vision. Without vision one believes in nothing outside of themselves and ,consequently, they see America as limited. Although the dream is alive, its reality is clouded by eyes that cannot see and hearts that do not believe. The understanding and appreciation for the fact that the "American dream" is enriched by a multifaceted expression of our "melting pot" culture is precisely where the synergy of our great history, of our great country, springs forth. Hearts that refuse to believe are threatening to destroy.

Today the attitude is just the opposite, a desire, no, a demand, for America to adapt to every possible cultural and religious notion that exists in the world. Yet, not only unreserved acceptance but accommodation by creating or providing a special "legal status". The expectation that America/ the American government, must accommodate and MAKE the American dream into a hodgepodge reality that reflects everyone simply by virtue of their being present is, in itself, un-American. America is. The reality of America as established by the Declaration of Independence is. If people want what America is then they need to seek to become part of her. If a person wants what a Muslim nation offers, they can go there; what a Communist nation offers, then go there; what a dictatorship offers, go there.

If people want the American dream, then there needs to be an embracing of America. That means being willing to put your trust in the principles and values established by our Founding Fathers. That is the dream... that all people could be free, indeed, have the right to be free given by Our Creator, not a government. Based on the acknowledgment that each human life has inherent value granted by God, this gift of freedom requires one thing, a willingness to submit your own personal will to a higher standard and acceptance of the gift with all its rights, privileges AND responsibilities.

Democrats perpetrate a distorted view of historical fact, seemingly preferring to stay mired in emotionally based politics. Fear reigns supreme in human nature when not balanced by belief and commitment to moral principles and an acknowledgment of a sovereign God.

Acceptance and commitment to the moral standards expressed by our Founding Fathers, Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King, Jr. testify to historical facts of the American dream and it's ability to accomplish great things not only for America but for the world. Today many politicians aid in debasing our foundational core and facilitate disregard for moral standards and personal responsibility via legislation. Yet, the historical record of nations with a disregard life and a standard of moral code is revealing. Nations who killed their young historically are considered primitive, pagan or barbaric ~ where are those nations today? Sadly, America stands in line. When we are "no different" from the rest of the world it, indeed, is a day of reckoning.

The decision of the Supreme Court is affirming for America ~ All Americans.
