Atlanta Journal-Constitution July 21, 2009 Bob Keefe
Newt Gingrich on Tuesday joined congressional Republicans in taking the Obama administration to task for not doing more to promote offshore oil drilling.
On the one-year anniversary of the lifting of a presidential ban on offshore oil exploration, Gingrich said the White House is hurting the economy by not pushing aggressively for drilling.
"Returning energy production to the United States means American jobs, keeping American money at home," Gingrich, the former House speaker and potential presidential candidate in 2012, said at a news conference outside the Capitol. "It's important to our national security, and it's important for our economy."
On July 14, 2008, President George W. Bush announced he was lifting the ban on offshore oil exploration first imposed by his father in 1990.
Gingrich said Obama has done nothing to foster offshore oil development, in part because gas prices have fallen and because Democrats in Congress are focused on renewable energy sources like wind and solar.

Ericrobinson's blog is 100% correct. Obama's reason for making every move to lower our standard of living, is because hates the success of capitalism, and I sincerely believe Obama hates American is trying to take us down to our knees. One who loves America doesn't go around to countries that hate us, and bad mouth our country, the country that Obama is suppose to be leading, but instead is bankrupting and taking us down. Obama will not make any decisions that is in the best interest of the United States. America has always been the most admired & successful country, and we are also the youngest country.....so that is an amazing accomplishment. Obama, in a few short months, will change everything this country has accomplished, and the admiration of other countries, for America. Along the way of him destroying the country, he will ruin all that our fore fathers founded this country on, and the freedoms we have enjoyed. He has simply stomped on our Constitution.

Every BTU that we extract from American soil, or American water, or from sunshine/wind over American territory, or from American nuclear reactors, instead of sending abroad, represents money that improves the standard of living of AMERICANS, through jobs, and through a stronger dollar, and it helps weaken our enemies, by not allowing this dollars to be given to terrorists, or buying weapon systems that we must defend against. Why does every policy Obama is pushing result in a lower standard of living for Americans, and a greater economic and military power for foreign countries? Are we actually paying the salaries of Democratic politicians? Talk about Trojan Horses!

Offshore dilling will only began when the Politicans see ways of making MORE money from it.
Our politicans HATE America. They are just like some rich business owners I know. They don't want no one to get ahead but themselves.
Offshore drilling would help America and the politicans DON'T WANT THAT. Keep us down, begging for a bone.
You elected these people SO YOU MUST BE HAPPY.
