| Newt Gingrich Statement on the Passing of Senator Edward Kennedy |
|
|
|
|
|
|
Speaker Newt Gingrich released the following statement upon hearing of the passing of Senator Edward Kennedy:
Senator Kennedy devoted his entire life to public policy. At any point he could have accepted a life of leisure. Instead he carried on his family's commitment to public service.
The Senate will be a smaller and sadder place without his enthusiasm, his energy, and his persistent courage.

"the goal is to create something that will' concepts2, you can say this for Ted, the state you made above something that will live forever is true.
People will always remember Ted for the DEATH of Mary Jo.
Ted was PURE TRASH anyway you look at it.Those that praize him are just as bad.
The whole bunch of Kennedys will never be missed by the people that care and have morals.

concepts2, A little more reality please. Shakespeare reminds us "The evil men do lives after them, the good is interred with their bones." The founders knew this that's why the constitution keeps the creations of fallible men from becoming permanent.

If more political leaders had Ted Kennedy's perserverence and commitment to equality for all, this country would be even better than what we read about in the history books. But corporate greed and self centered agendas in Washington have almost destroyed the American Dream.

Say what you want about Ted Kennedy, he understood one thing more clearly than anyone in recent memory: “We all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will.”
Unfortunately for us, our Constitution was written to expressly prevent politicians from doing exactly that.

I did not agree with 99% of what Ted Kennedy stood for. However, you can't take away from him the fact that he worked tirelessly for the causes that he believed in. Those of us who opposed him and his misguided policies need to have the grace to admit that much, and extend our sympathies and well wishes to his family.

Hot, that's rough..
I just wonder, now that he's on the "other side" - what was it like when he learned: The Liberals Are Wrong.
