Coming to grips with the right way to solve our problems

Over the weekend, the Wall Street Journal published a terrific article that echoed many of themes Newt has been talking about for some time. Entitled The Albany-Trenton-Sacramento Disease, they note the destructive progessive policies each state has embarked upon and how President Obama is trying to continue on this same destructive path.

Newt has talked similarly on this topic:

Michigan has lost more jobs than any state in the United States except the impact of Katrina on Louisiana. And nobody stops and says, "What is the systemic reason for this collapse?"...(I'm relaying) the systemic failure of the American system, Democrat and Republican, systemic in Sacramento, systemic in Detroit, systemic in Albany, systemic in Washington, D.C., and the fact that neither political party is producing the kind of campaign and the kind of candidates not just for president but across the system.

and he has used this example in a recent newsletter as well:

...politicians and lobbyists in Sacramento are ignoring or rejecting the voters' will, just as they are in Albany and Trenton. The states with huge government machines have basically moved beyond the control of the people. They have become castles of corruption, favoritism and wastefulness...the political machines in California and New York are wrecking the states' economies and driving out successful residents. But the machines don't care because all they want to do is own the wreckage.

Now President Obama, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid want to impose on the nation this style of politics in which interest groups, politicians and bureaucracies dominate. Look at their record: a $787 billion stimulus no elected official had read, 8,000 earmarks, an Environmental Protection Agency plan to control the economy through carbon regulations, the government threatening retaliation against those who would protect their property rights against theft in the Chrysler bailout -- again and again, this team is moving toward a government that owns the country rather than a government that is owned by the people.

It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million cannot replace 545 people who stand convicted -- by present facts -- of incompetence and irresponsibility. I can't think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to the 545 people in government that make the laws. When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist, not the voters.

Im from Michigan, Pontiac. We just lost our mayor too... Newt has spoken about the issues in this state more than the our Gov. Our state government is disfunctional. I tell people I'm from the fundraiser formerly known as Michigan. Many cities like Pontiac and Detroit are absurdly corrupt. Please Newt. Run ! You have vision. You have my vote.

Matt: Fact Check!

California’s special election was very costly and approximately only 24% of ALL registered voters actually went to the polls. The election, contrary to YOUR belief, was NOT driven by anti-tax fervor. The voters in California are fed up with a governor who is highly unqualified to run the state and a legislator that attempts to balance the budget through gimmicks and endless shifting of funds. To even allude or try to convince anyone that the “tea baggers” or “no new tax crowd” scored a big one is an outright lie or a huge misrepresentation of facts. The initiatives were confusing and poorly written.

The real message the voters sent was that both the governor and legislature need to find real solutions to California’s problems and stop shifting their responsibility on to the voters and do the job they the voters elected them to do. California also has the Party of No saying, “No” to every proposal put to them! The constituents that voted for these members (clowns) should be very upset with them for doing nothing other than occupying space. They are huge waste of taxpayer’s money and are very similar to their big brothers and sisters in the U.S. Senate and Congress. They offer no solutions and are void of any new ideas. You would know all of this, Matt, if you did a little research, factual research. You are only presenting parts of the story…….the parts that are more convincing or lend credibility to your argument, but……not the whole story.

Now, regarding President Obama……..really……he’s really trying to “own” the country?! Really? Where did you get this little known/obscure “fact?” I am serious; I did not receive the memo. Please direct me to an actual FACTUAL site or resource that states specifically and with out any doubt, that President Obama’s grand scheme or plan is to take over the country. No conspiracy theory oriented sites or Fixed News. I want a real, authentic, credible source.

In all honesty, Matt, your comments were just the normal fear mongering spewed daily by members of your party because you have nothing else to offer; no new ideas, no solutions, just fear mongering, hysteria, and rhetoric. I do not think you received the memo that We, the People of this Country, are done with the fear mongering nonsense. That was so 8 years ago……over! And someone really needs to remind NEWT that he is the FORMER speaker of the house……….done……..left in shame……a complete disgrace……oh, and a hypocrite. But, you people still hang on every word he says………pretty pathetic..... and scary!

Yes. We All Agree That "Team Obama" Is So "Smart" (Intelligent).

And Yet, Its Been Six Months and Team Obama Has Yet to Solve One Problem For America.

The Reason is Simple. Obama Does NOT Want to Solve Problems, He Wants to "Create Crisis" So He Can Change Government's Framework to Takeover and CHANGE America by Redistributing Its Wealth to Government Control.

Team Obama Doesn't Want to Solve America's Problems, They Want to Control America Like a Progressive Marxist Dictatorship.

America Continues to Watch Rome Burn From Their Comfortable Position on Their Couch. Sad.
