Economist.com Online Debate: This house believes that the widespread use of comparative effectiveness reviews and cost/benefit analyses will stifle medical innovation and lead to an unacceptable rationing of health care.

As Newt debates Sir Michael Rawlins on the rationale for having comparative effectiveness reviews (CERs) as part of America’s healthcare system, he exposes a topic of contention within medical communities on which the public should have a say. Read here to check out Newt’s take on this debate, and why this initiative stops medical innovation right in its tracks, denying Americans the potential to receive life saving treatments.

Newt, I have always held out hope that you were the Conservative that we need to restore America. Since you endorsed the left wing Republican in District 23 in New York I have second thoughts. This is not about Republicans or Democrats. This is about America and where we are going. I now put youy in the same class as Lindsey Graham, one who does what is convenient for the party. We don't need that now, we need true Patriots and you have lost it.

I don't believe a word your saying do to the truth that you as well as the Republican Party has been taking money for these corporations forever, and not caring about the middle class people in the United States. Health care in other countries are so much better than ours, and yet the Republican Party brig up the English Health care and not other countries that are so much farther ahead of ours.
I feel as if the Republican Party is about them selves and scare people into voting for them only because there thinking there rights are being taken away thanks to you as well as your party.

Newt, if you had heard Senator Reid this
morning that the Republican Senators had
no offer of any suggestions to help with the
Health Care bill, you would wonder if any
body on the hill is listening to the idea's
of the republicans on this issue.
