brown supports abortion how conservative can that be?
browns just another rino.
please dont take offense newt but i wouldnt want you in office either.
it is time to clean the slate, from the top down. no more career politicians period no special perks no instant pensions no more politicians who run for office to line their pockets off the backs of american citizens.
you have the inside ability to take down hussein obama but you wont due to "political correctness" you know as well as half of america knows that hussein is NOT ELIGIBLE to occupy the office of the presidency. you can do something about that but you refuse to which makes you part of the crime.

THE POINT IS THAT REAGAN'S SO-CALLED "CONSERVATIVE" POLICIES DID NOT WORK. EVEN AFTER HE HAD IMPOSED WHAT HE CALLED THE LARGEST TAX CUTS IN HISTORY, HE LATER HAD TO IMPOSE THE LARGEST TAX AND FEE INCREASES--BASED ON REAL DOLLARS AND INFLATION-- IN MODERN HISTORY--EVEN HIGHER THAN BILL CLINTON'S 1993 TAX INCREASE IN REAL DOLLAR TERMS--AND HIS DEFICIT AND DEBT RECORD THROUGHOUT HIS 2 TERMS WAS HORRIBLE....PLEASE DON'T EXPECT THINKING PEOPLE TO BUY THAT MALARKEY ABOUT "CONSERVATIVE" ECONOMIC POLICIES BEING THE PANACEA...BECAUSE EVERYTIME THOSE POLICIES ARE EFFECTED, THE MIDDLE CLASS SHRINKS, UNEMPLOYMENT INCREASES AND DEFICITS AND DEBTS SET NEW RECORDS....THE NEXT PRESIDENT--ALWAYS A DEMOCRAT--STEPS INTO AN ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE SITUATION AND, IF MIRACLES DON'T IMMEDIATELY FOLLOW, HE GETS THE BLAME FOR EVERYTHING...AND DON'T SPIN IT THAT THE DEMS WOULDN'T CUT SPENDING...REAGAN WAS PRESIDENT AND HE GOT VIRTUALLY EVERYTHING HE ASKED FOR FROM THE DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS. IF YOU GIVE REAGAN CREDIT ANYTHING, YOU HAVE TO GIVE HIS DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS CREDIT AS WELL..IF YOU GIVE THE DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS BLAME FOR ANYTHING, YOU HAVE TO GIVE REAGAN, WHO WAS PRESIDENT, THE SAME AMOUNT OF BLAME...YOU CAN'T HAVE IT BOTH WAYS...

YO, NEWT, EXPLAIN WHY CLINTON'S TAX INCREASES RESULTED IN THE LONGEST, STONGEST PERIOD OF ECONOMIC GROWTH IN MODERN US HISTORY WHILE THE SUPPLY SIDE, BORROW AND SPEND, TAXES DOWN-TAXES BACK UP, TRICKLE DOWN HAS ALWAYS FAILED...AND DON'T PLAY THE "DOT.COM" CARD...SILICON VALLEY DIDN'T HIRE 25 MILLION PEOPLE ALL OVER AMERICA...AND NEITHER DID THE DOT.COM BUBBLE RIPPLE ALL THE GOOD NEWS IN THE 90'S....BUSH'S "WALL STREET BOOM" MADE THE "DOT.COM BOOM" LOOK LIKE SUNDAY SCHOOL AND LOOK WHERE HIS LAISSEZ FAIRE APPROACH TO WALL STREET, TAX CUTS FOR THE RICH, SCREW THE WORKING POOR AND MIDDLE CLASS (THE CONSUMER BASE) GOT US...

In January 1981, Ronald Reagan, was inaugurated. US unemployment was @ 7.5%. By January, 1982, a year later, unemployment: 8.6%. December, 1982, unemployment: 10.8%. January, 1883, unemployment: 10.4%. Unemployment didn't dip below 10.1% until July 1983; it dropped to 9.4%.

2 1/2 years after Reagan became president--promised to balance the budget in 3 years--he screwed that up with "supply side", "borrow and spend" & "trickle down" policies; 8 straight record setting deficits; record national debt growth; the highest unemployment rates since The Great Depression era; took the US, the world's leading lender, to the world's leading debtor nation in 8 years. Unemployment didn't go down to what it was when Reagan took office until July,1984 when it hit 7.5%. When he left office in January, 1989 it was 5.4%.

Clinton was inaugurated January 1993, unemployment was up to 7.4% via GHWBush.

Clinton left office January 2001, unemployment was barely at 4.7% & had gone as low as 3.6%. He had three surplus budgets.

G W Bush left office, unemployment was over 7%. All of the above: Compliments of the Federal Bureau of labor Statistics.

Obama inherited a rapidly dying economy. Due to info provided by the Bush administration, Obama was led to miscalculate the damage left by the Bush administration.

Obama inaugurated January 2009 & has been in office 12 months. If Obama's record parallels Reagan's record, the US is doomed.

Contrary to Reagan's record in his first 3 1/2 years--aprox. 40 mos of record unemployment--the underlying elements of our US economy are already looking up.

During Reagan's first 2 years, all was darkness & getting darker. Employment is a lagging indicator. Other "leading" indicators are moving up.

History indicates it takes 19 months for job growth to show measurable improvement following a major recession. 12 months, not even 18 months, are not enough time before condemning an administration which inherited a nation sinking into quicksand fast.

If you gave Reagan a break, as I did then, give Obama a break. It is the intellectually honest thing to do. If, in time, he doesn't produce a better result than Reagan did in his first term, a .02% improvement in unemployment from 7.5% in 1/1981 to 10.8% & back to 7.3% in 1/1985--then you can justifiably squeal and go nuts.

Het Newt, Why the sudden slide to the middle? And if you got all these "good" ideas, why don't you hold an elective office?
Just face it , the conservative agenda didn't
work . You're not fooling me into thinking you're not the same a-hole you were when you were a member of Congress . And all of
your yes men on this blog are even dumber
than you .There's certainly nothing in the
conservative agenda for Joe the plumbers
like them . The only reason they follow people like you is because they can't see past their noses. They can't think for themselves. And your agenda is and always was driven by unspoken racism and
no I am no liberal by no means , but I am savy enough to understand what is behind
the support given to the repubs by white
males. Fortunately I am an anomaly simply
because I can see past that bulls--- and
understand whats in the best interest for all Americans not just some. This country was meant to be inclusive , not exclusive .

I read your open letter to President Obama which I thought was outstanding. Sadly our country is suffering from bipolar politics, and the only way to get through this Great Recession is for moderates, both Republican and Democrat, to come together and solve our country's pressing problems. The politics have become so fringe that it's causing our country to fray. We need moderates to remind the rest of the country that it's united we stand, divided we fail.

Thank you for your email today, Mr . Speaker.

We have another Scott Brown here in CA - although more accurately, Scott Brown is another Chuck DeVore, as DeVore declared running against Barbara Boxer in Nov 2008.

Chuck DeVore is taking on Boxer; he's cut from the same cloth as Scott Brown - even being a Lt. Cnl. in the reserves.

DeVore declared in Nov 08, and is campaigning as of old - with hard work and looking the voters right in the eye, while at the same time is savvy enough to fully utilize every modern social networking possible.

I belong to Huck Pac, the 912 Project, 912 Patriots for action, Independence Caucus, Tea Party movement, several Republican Women's Federated groups - we all are 110% behind this guy.
Other people are now trying to take the credit, but he went against his own Republican Party and almost single-handedly stopped Prop 1a - the extension of the tax hike in CA - and he is our people's champion.

We are all FURIOUS the GOP big wigs brought Fiorina into the race (who could be another Scozzafava for all we know), and they did it because they know if DeVore wins they can't control him, he will put the people and the country first.

May I encourage you to sign up to his web site www.chuckdevore.com, and you will get to know that this is a good guy, worthy of your support.

Thanks again,

Pam (Gooderham)
Tustin, CA

Why do conservatives that write columns or have radio or television shows, try to apply common sense or sane logic when they try to explain what the leftists are doing? They presume that Obama himself actually believes that his actions are intended to do good things or bring positive results such as prosperity. Maybe they want to illustrate the obvious. Maybe they are trying to put it all into some understandable context? Well, I wish they would stop it and just point out the obvious. Obama and his administration are doing exactly what they want and intend to do and that is the destabilization of our economy and government until they collapse. At that point their goal of the socialization and enslavement of the population of North America will succeed. The Constitution and its guarantees will be literally destroyed. Why are all conservatives and conservatives in Congress not calling for the impeachment of Obama and everyone in his administration and for their immediate removal from office, criminal prosecution and imprisonment? Obama and his administration and many others on his side of the aisle are committing treason. They are deliberately violating their oaths of office and putting this country and its citizens in dire jeopardy and direct danger. They are doing it on purpose! What more reason do you need then that to state the obvious? Just say it like I just did. Say it like it is! Stop beating around the bush and get to it! Most Americans already think it any ways. So what if the left starts whining about it. Tell 'em to shut the hell up and NO, WE ARE NOT QUESTIONING THEIR PATRIOTISM BECAUSE WE KNOW THEY DO NOT HAVE ANY. They are not beholding to their oaths and therefore they are not beholding to our Constitution and the freedoms and liberties the rest of us derive from it. There was a time in this country that people such as the left would have been publicly branded as traitors and treated as such. Time to say it like it is. It’s time to push even harder now and not let up! Do not just hold the left’s feet to the fire, rather toss them into it. Destroy them because that is what they would have done to us. They have no compassion for what has made this country great and refuse to embrace the concepts of our founding. For that they deserve no compassion. They have utter disdain, contempt and hate for what allows them to be free. Stop being nice to them. Air their treason, lies, twisted ideology, their hate for America and their scandals. Beat them into irrelevance with the truth of what they are. Their absence is greatly desired. We have the momentum now and we need to capitalize on it and destroy them.

Ok, Brown won. The point I want to make as a Tea Party member is that it wasn't so much a "win" for the republican party, but a major "LOSS" for the democrats. The democrats lost because of conservative independents AND concerned democrats. Keep that in mind Newt. If a republican runs for office or reelection that does not hold or keep the principles that are desired by conservative independents like me, the republican will loose. Period. I will not back a republican blindly like you did in New York. Once she conceded and deferred to the democrats, you finally joined the likes of Palin and a few sane republicans and backed Hoffman. Unlike you, I will always follow my principles. If a republican in office starts making deals behind close doors like the democrats did the entire last year, I will not vote for that republican and will actively campaign against him.
Be humble. Stay the course.
BTW, thanks for deleting my previous post.

Way to go Scott Brown! Ditto to "paving the way"... for Nov. and again in 2012! It's time Americans take charge of 'our' government - one by one!! The current Administration is unacceptable. Let's turn things around!! I hope Newt goes for the big seat in 2012!!

By colonelmom4u @ Wednesday, January 20, 2010 2:44 PM
Scott won because all of us want a real change. We proved we can do it by supporting the right candidate. We can support those right candidates from other states as we did with Scott Brown. I have never been involved in politics but both my husband and I decided it was time to make our voices heard. His motto is "Constitution First". This speaks volumes of what he stands for. Please consider him as a viable candidate to support. http://www.seanforsenate.com/

Repubs need to drive home to the American Public that they DO want Health Care reform, slow methodical fixing of what is wrong and shoreing up what is right. Otherwise they will say we killed it and did not offer anything

By chattykathy301 @ Wednesday, January 20, 2010 2:04 PM
They called us 'terrorists' when we organized the Tea Parties. So, we Conservatives chose to defeat the Liberals the only way we know how...the democratic way...at the ballot box! Ain't life grand!

By Anonymous @ Wednesday, January 20, 2010 11:44 AM
Ok Brown won, Now is the time for the people of Mass. to make sure he is not swallowed up in the D.C. black hole

By macarter @ Wednesday, January 20, 2010 11:03 AM
Scott Brown has set the example for campaigns in 2010. He ran a straighforward campaign, spoke the truth.
The Republican should be looking at what went right with his election. LOOKING FOR REAL LEADERSHIP!!

By Anonymous @ Wednesday, January 20, 2010 10:42 AM
Scott Brown's victory should suggest to the democrats that they may have a hard time finding any state that supports their ideas about health care reform in particular and the Polluter in Chief's agenda in particular. Serious democrats, as opposed to Reid and Pelosi, had ought to get serious and reconsider their positions on lots of things.

By colombini @ Wednesday, January 20, 2010 9:18 AM
Can't wait for November. Usually vote straight ticket Libertarian, but probably will go straight ticket Republican in hopes we can get some real conservatives in there (small government, low taxes)

By smoore44 @ Wednesday, January 20, 2010 9:14 AM
Do you think they believe us now?
Fellow Conservatives - Do not let the momentum slow - Change DC politics forever - Keep the pressure on the liberals and vote them out in November.

By Geodavis @ Wednesday, January 20, 2010 8:43 AM
Strike while the iron is still bright red! What Newt said in the video is gospel. Also, start drafting another contract for America! Pushing whatever will get jobs and the economy headed back in the right direction!!! Start pushing the "common sense" healthcare reforms.
