Why is Israel blamed for so many of the world’s problems?  Because the real causes are too terrifying.  I’m Newt Gingrich, more in a moment.
 
Why do so many of America’s enemies – and so many of our friends – always blame the world’s problems on Israel?
 
If there is a civil war in Algeria and 100,000 Muslims are killed by other Muslims, Israel gets the blame.
  
If young girls walking home from school are killed by the Taliban as part of a terrorist campaign to end the education of girls in Afghanistan, Israel gets the blame.
 
If there are doctors in England plotting terrorist attacks, Israel gets the blame.
 
If there are terrorists in New Jersey, it's probably because they once saw a map of Israel.
 
The question is, why?
 
For some, it’s hatred of Israel and the Jewish people.  But others blame Israel first because the real reasons are too terrifying to be honest about.
 
The fact is, the irreconcilable wing of Islam is quite clear: They want to kill Salmon Rushdie because he wrote book they didn’t like. They murdered Theo van Gogh in Holland because he made a film they didn’t like. They threatened the life of Dutch parliamentarian Ayaan Ali and drove her out of Holland because she said things they didn’t like. 
 
So let's be clear: We have two choices.  We can find a way to be reasonable and surrender, or we can defeat our enemies.
