Mr. Speaker:
I listened to your interview with Laura Ingraham.
It was distressing to hear you skip over the idea of student accountability. Is that what you meant by "class" when you listed the different "stakeholders" (as the education establishment likes to call them)?
You can have all the school choice in the world, but until our kids are disciplined to take their education seriously, nothing will change significantly. If you don't believe me, start talking with teachers. Not their union bosses. Teachers.
A disciplined class opens up all types of reform. Teaching undisciplined kids is like developing haute cuisine restaurants for people with no appetites. It's not going to work.
It's imperative that you differentiate yourself from Duncan, Sharpton and Obama in this regard.
