The 1994 Contract With America was brilliant, successful in the '94 elections, and good for the country.
One thing that disappointed me was, however, that a "Report Card on the Contract" was never widely publicized. That Congress did indeed fulfill promises and brought matters to a vote, even if some did not pass, or got vetoed by Pres. Clinton.
The Republicans did not take enough credit for what they did in fulfilling the 1994 Contract.
It seems to me that it would have been a help to the Republican Party to publish a "Promises Made, Promises Kept" report card - and still might be a help if a 2010 Contract is promoted.

Jusging from my small town politics, I think 2009 was about firing whomever was in office at the time because the public is angry. Because fiscally responsible officers were replaced with those promising more spending. I can't say the majority of Americans even know what's in the Constitution, let alone what it means

We have a contract for America, it's called the Constitution and The Bill of Rights. Now follow that one. This is what the 2009 elections were about and MUCH more to come next year and in 2012.
